A staple for Chinese food in the city, this restaurant draws crowd with its scrumptious signature dishes and extensive dim sum selection.

by Contributor

In Short
This Chinatown/International District dining destination pleases the palate with its well-stocked dim sum offerings, fresh seafood dishes and savory entrees such as house special noodles, salt and pepper squid, Mongolian beef and honey walnut prawns. Authentic cuisine, huge portions, reasonable prices, family-style atmosphere and friendly staff leave diners craving more. Open year-round and even on holidays, this place offers an alternative to eating in or quick meals to go.

Hits: Wide variety of dishes available offers something for everyone, including vegetarians.

Misses: Parking is a huge challenge in the neighborhood. Plan to walk or take public transportation.

Tasty Midnight Dining

by aep

This restaurant is always packed in the early morning hours and is usually fairly busy during the day. No need for reservations. It's good food, quick service in an economical dining room. I especially like the honey court prawns and salt-and-pepper pork. It's a little grubby, but like most restaurants in the area, well worth the trip. I can't wait to go back.

  • Pros: late-night, inexpensive, service
  • Cons: , late night parking

It's all about the food here

by chowhound369

We dined on dim sum here one crowded Sunday (always a good sign) and were pretty satisfied. The Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, sliced barbecued pork, shiu mai (sp?), sesame seed balls, seafood dumplings, and barbecue pork humbao were excellent. We didn't like the texture of the crab and fish maw soup, but that might be a casualty of our admittedly sometimes-pedestrian tastes (is it a true dim sum feast if we avoid the chicken feet?). The interior is bare and a bit seedy looking but the food makes up for it.

  • Pros: pork buns (humbao), chinese broccoli, sesame seed balls

Soooo Good

Everyone has got to try those Honey Court prawns with the walnuts. That is the best thing I have ever had. And the salt and pepper crab is fantastic, too. I love their dim sum, too. Especially the black bean spareribs and the little pork dumplings--siu mai, I think their called. Go and try this place out yourself!

  • Pros: Those walnut prawns, the seafood, Best dim sum
  • Cons: hard to find parking

Best after hours joint

by jplaya

I can't think of any other place where I can get salt and pepper crab, chicken chow mein, and mongolian beef this good. Even at 3 in the morning. They're open till 3:30 am on Fri and Sat and 2:30 on Thurdays! We come here after a long night of clubbin' and just chill. This place is usually packed after 1 am. We're not the only ones that agree this is where to go after hours for great food and a relaxing place to hang out.

  • Pros: THE best late eats, relaxing atmoshpere, great food anytime

Most amazing restaurant in the city

by cassyd

I am allergic to a number of things, including corn, which is a problem in Chinese restaurants because they use corn starch in almost everything. The wait person took down all the things I couldn't eat, discussed it with the chef, and they managed to tweak every dish I wanted accordingly. What makes Honey Court great is that they did all this with a smile!! Believe me, that is very hard to come by with as many requests that I have to make. And best of all, the food tasted great. This is not only the best Chinese reastaurant I've ever been to, it is now the only one I go to.

  • Pros: great staff, inexpensive, great food
  • Cons: parking

Wow

by allansharpe

I took my out-of-town guests there and they were comletely blown away. The food is amazing. My wife and I have made Honey Court a weekly destination. Be it the stunning assortment of dim sum or the dinner menu, you will be impressed. My wife loves the modern look of the place with its red and yellow walls and the orange "sky."

  • Pros: great food, cool decor, large selection
  • Cons: parking

Best Chinese in the city!

by smoothbaby

Definitely authentic--I grew up in Hong Kong and have been looking for a REAL Chinese restaurant for a while now. My search is finally over. Lots of food for not alot of money. The dim sum is great and those honey walnut prawns are to die for. They were invented here--often imitated but never duplicated. They redecorated with deep reds, oranges and yellows. A very warm, hip, belltown feel now. Much better than the purple ocean thing before. This place gets packed after hours on the weekends but it's open till 3:30am so there's plenty of time to mellow out after a night at the clubs.

  • Pros: The FOOD!!, Decor, The FOOD!
  • Cons: parking is hard in ID

We call it "money court"

by Spanky55

The food is really good, we have a system: Hot sour soup, egg rolls, honey shrimp, mongolian beef. Can't beat it. The restaurant is not much to look at, but after a few beers at the local watering hole, you don't need much eye candy stuffing your face at 2am. Good place to get fat; get some drinks go here, gain weight. Don't worry, not a rowdy joint, even late the clientele is pretty talkative, but mellow. Occaisional catfights keep this place tops on my late night eats list. Enjoy.

  • Pros: Food Good, not expensive, Entertaining clientel
  • Cons: not the best decor, sometimes crowded
