Worst karaoke experience ever
by Mineli
If you are planning a visit to this restaurant to sing karaoke, I strongly urge you to find another venue. Unless you are an initiated regular, you have to be lucky to get a chance to sing. I went there with about 10 friends and only a handful of us were ever called up to sing. I should add that we were the first ones to arrive in the evening, the first ones to turn in our song requests, we stayed until closing, and also bought numerous drinks and appetizers. But the karaoke MC seemed to have his own agenda and chose to loose many song requests or only "find" the requests after some people waited over two hours and then specifically asked if they were ever going to sing. On the other hand, the regulars each sang four or five songs within that same time frame.
If it wasn't frustrating enough to not have any way of organizing the song requests, the MC also decided HE needed to perform five *very long* musical numbers throughout the evening. And if a patron was singing a song that was running a little long, there were usually "technical difficulties" and the song was abruptly cut off.
I will never go back to this establishment and I also speak for the entire group I went with. The only positive thing I have to say about this karaoke experience is that they apparently take care of their regulars. However, this is to the detriment of any potential repeat business if they so blatantly give the cold shoulder to any new customers.
marginal at best

marginal food and poor service are not a good combination, the only positive is free parking
which is a bonus in Seattle
BAD....BAD customer service!!!!!
by pandabui
My boyfriend and I went there for a friend's birthday on a Saturday night. It was the WORST Japanese Restaurant i have ever been to. The waitress didn't even give us any tea or water at the first place and she never came back to take the order from us. My boyfriend was being very nice and patience about it. We asked like 3 to 4 times before we got somebody to come a take the order.
After all....the servies was bad and the food was HORRIBLE. I would never go back there again!!!!
- Pros: I don't know what they are good at!!
- Cons: Bad bad service....
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
by nhuconchim
This was by far the WORST japanese restaurant I've ever been to. My friend had her birthday planned out a MONTH ahead and yet they still managed to screw the dinner up. The time was pushed from 6:15pm to 6:45.....our party was split into 3 different booths...and the food? even california rolls at SAFEWAY is better . (the steak and miso soup were fine however). If you want good japanese food, try Maneki or Fuji (not too far away)
- Pros: their own parking (its usually full though), tuna sashimi
- Cons: horrible service,
A Terrible Experience
by m_w_t
I went to this place just for the hell of it with no expectations whatsoever. Even without any expectations, my experience at this restaurant turned out to be bad.
The food i had wasn't any good and the whole place felt really corny.
Also this isn't the place to look for great service, because it's almost non-existent.
- Pros: cheap
Excellent Sashimi!

So I went in with a craving for Sushi and... This place delivered! At a price on-par with other good Sushi places I recieved a large plate overflowing with fish, carved into beautiful pieces, and beautifully arranged. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a wait on the sashimi platter itself but my beers, rice, and miso soup all came up like clockwork.
- Pros: service, ambience, food
Oh how the mighty have fallen!

When I was a child I loved to go down to Bush Garden with my parents and have Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu. In those days, one needed reservations. Not any longer. The management changed a few years back and the quality and service steadily declines. The tension between the Sushi chef and owner and his staff is especially a turn off. With the exception of the bar staff, who are friendly and efficient, the restaurant staff, and especially the Sushi chef are dismissive and unaccommodating. One regular server in particular is down right rude. It's a stressful dining atmosphere and the food is nothing to write home about. Hang out in the bar and sing, but leave the Sushi Chef to his tantrums.
- Pros: Great Bar/Bartenders, Good Karaoke
- Cons: Tasteless food, Over-priced, Rude waitstaff
The worst service I've ever encountered!
by marymelissaw
Six of us tried to have dinner. We arrived at 8:30, were told they were no longer seating in the restaurant because the kitchen staff was off at 10, but we could order food in the bar. The server came around and took the drink order, 3 beers. We waited 40 minutes for her to come around and take our food order, she never did. At 9:20, the server told us the chef had gone home. We got up to leave explaining we shouldn't have to pay for the beers. They argued we split the bill. So they charged my husbands card then said if I wasn't happy, "don't come back!" I've been going to Bush Garden since I was a child. I have memories junior high field trips there and my friends and I even went there on our prom night. I've always recemmended this restaurant, no more...DON'T GO!
- Pros: parking, private rooms
- Cons: service, communication, rude staff
This Japanese place has an extensive menu, long hours, numerous tatami rooms and a karaoke cocktail lounge.

In Short
The interior features a footbridge over a babbling stream, paper lanterns and umbrellas and lots of rattan. Upstairs, a banquet room can accommodate busloads of diners. The long sushi bar segues into the robata bar, which ends in the open grill area, allowing patrons to watch the cooks at work. Options include sashimi, spicy black-cod kasuzuke, clam soup or crispy tempura.
