I have been dining at Caspian Persian Grill for years. Every Caspian Experience gets better and better, which is uncommon in any establishment. The staff is considerate, accommodating and friendly. The food (Platter #3 is a personal favorite) melts in your mouth and is truly authentic Persian Cuisine. To top the evening off, they provide their clients with Professional Belly Dance shows. I was just ad Caspian a few nights ago and was welcomed by a talented Belly Dancer. She involved the audience in her show, brought her strong talent to the Caspian Stage and added to the venue’s Flavor!

Caspian is KICKIN…keep up the stellar job!

  • Pros: Customer Service, Food, Professional Belly Dancers, VIBE
  • Cons: Parking

I love this place. The service is friendly, and the food is great. I grew up with my grandmother's Persian food and this restaurant takes me back to being seven years old. The khoobideh kabob is spiced just right, the rice is buttery and fluffy, the geimeh has the right amount of lemon and the portions are truly Persian. You will never leave hungry. The only criticism I would have is that the atmosphere feels a little cold. A bit more adornment to the walls would be nice. Even if you are a vegetarian, there is good foor for you. Try the Shirin Polo (sweet rice) or the geimeh badamjoon (eggplant stew) and you won't be disappointed. Truly. I've eaten here for years and never been disappointed once.

  • Pros: Great food, belly dancing on some weekends, great service
  • Cons: ambiance, a little pricey

I had eaten some amazing vegetarian persian food in Cleveland, OH. I was excited to see this place in Seattle serving persian food and it had 4+ stars and so I decided to check it out. Their bread was so-so - cold and hard. The waiter told us that that's the way its supposed to be. I kind of disagree that any cuisine calls for cold, hard bread.

I cannot comment about the kebabs and other meat dishes since I am a vegetarian. The vegetarian dishes were okay. The salad was hideous - too much vinegar. Eggplant dishes were not very bad but not great either. I can get a similar tasting canned Babagannoush . Serving portions are large. Basmati rice was awesome. If you are a vegetarian, you're better off avoiding this place.

  • Pros: Location and street parking
  • Cons: Vey average middle-eastern food

My family and me have been a customer of the Caspian Grill Persian Cuisine in the University District for as many years as their restaurant has had its doors open to the Seattle food critic community and the Persian community. As an American having visited Iran and tasted its food truely believe that food that they cook is just as authentic as that served at some family friends we stayed with there. I have been reading some the reviews below and feel a bit taken to hear some criticizing their beautiful dancers, the staff and the food. Shame on you. You call yourselves food critics but after looking at your critique of other restaurants found none. Funny to call yourself a food critic. Seems to me you have a personal problem. Frankly, you haven't lived until you taste this Persian cooking. It is home cooked Persian food provided by a fine family who have been serving Persian food to the Seattle Persian community for more than 17 years. They must be doing something right.

  • Pros: great food, wine pairing, live music, and belly dancing
  • Cons: street parking

The belly dancers are absolutely inexperienced and the management and staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. Beside all of this, the food is not authentic and is way over priced.

I ordered the fish and rice dish, however, my salmon was raw/red inside, I asked the waiter to cook it more. After 15 minutes, they come back with a black fish, so dry my fork wouldn?t even cut it and it was burnt all over. I showed the fish to the waiter, and he called the manager. The manager came over and looked at me very condescending and all he said was ?I?ll take care of it?. At that point I asked him to make the order to go since it was too late. I sat there for an hour that night, without food and without any apologies from the restaurant staff. As my boyfriend and I were coming out of the restaurant, the owner ran after us, called my boyfriend a Mother F***er and me a bit**! He grabbed my boyfriend?s collar to threaten him and told him to go to the back alley so he can show him! We ended up calling the police and we filled an assault case against the restaurant. I do not recommend this restaurant due to bad service and overpriced food. This happened on Friday night December 12. The Seattle Police Incident # 2008-464069

  • Pros: Example: best croissants in town
  • Cons: What are the drawbacks?

Quiet and intimate setting located in the University District. Service was prompt and attentive. The menu has good variety and the palate is never disappointed.

I've come here a few times, and really enjoyed my food and the ambience. Once, we had a very large group for a friend's going away, and the restaurant handled us very well. They had belly dancing that night, and it was such a perfect conversation piece and send-off for my friend. Really enjoyed it.

wELL I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT THIS RESTAURANT IS GOOD...BUT I HATE TO TELL YOU IT is terrible

To be honest ALL the Persian Restuarant sin our lovely state of WA are terrible!!!

bunch of people with no cooking or food background starting a mom and pop in this case 2 brothers who know nothing about cooking... or want to really learn...i am sorry but don't go to ALBORZ or any of the others around here either. it is a waste of your money and time..

These guys at Caspian don't even have a frikin' print out of receipt? I had no clue what we ordered.. that is very fishy... hand written and squiggles on a piece of receipt book.... we were overcharged and just paid to get the hell out since we were with american friends and didn't want to seem as if WE ARE ALL THIEVES!!!!!

GO to KABUL AFGHANI restaurant on 45th. great food.. healthy, clean and great LAMB...

I won't go back and support them....

We've been to Caspian at least 10 times and the food has been consistently excellent! Try the fesenjan, a chicken dish with pomegranate juice, or the veggie platters to give your taste buds a rare treat. The kababs are delight too. The waiters are very attentive and the owner often stops by to chat or can be found in the kitchen making sure their tried-and-tested recipes are being followed faithfully. Friday and Saturday evenings include live music and belly dancing (five dollar cover). Caspian is a local Seattle family-owned business that is worth a visit.
