Just like Yiayia used to make

by mcguffin

The Continental is a great family-run Seattle institution. They have all the standard dishes one would typically expect from a Greek restaurant, and they are all up to snuff. A great place to go for lunch if you are in the U-District (especially if you have a little time to leisurely enjoy some baklava and Greek coffee after your meal) or even better to go with your family for dinner. They also have a selection of Greek wine and groceries for those who want to bring something home.

delicious!

by leisure_lif3

my friends and i always come to this place. it's so delicious! the service is always wonderful, and the ambience really does make me feel like i'm in some cafe in greece. the salads, entrees, and wines are great, but their desserts strike people as odd and maybe evne anti climatic until they realize that it's also a bakery. nevertheless, i always go there whenever i'm up in the university district.. and even when i'm not, i make the 20 mile drive to eat at this place!

  • Pros: great food, service, value
  • Cons: street parking, crowded during 'student hours'

Great food Great prices

by ryynoo

This is a great restaurant if you are more concerned about taste and value than ambience. There is nothing wrong with the facility, it is just simple and that is fine because the food is great. I had gyro's and they were some of the best around.

Our Favorite Breakfast in Seattle

by troutonfly

They serve a pesto, feta, and tomato omlette that just blows my mind. My wife gets a grilled feta sandwich that's also out of this world. We go with such regularity that our usual waitress need only make eye contact with us before placing our order and bringing out the coffee (which ranks among the best diner coffee I've ever had). Two can't-miss sure-fire dishes plus outstanding service means we go back again and again, and so should you.

  • Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Great Value

everyone loves helen and dimitri

by brazenhussy100

the owners are as sweet as can be, wonderful with children and always warm to both regulars and new comers. even better, the kitchen is delightfully consistent--i've never had a bad breakfast here and the bacon is always perfectly crisp and even. one the city's best kept secrets.

A family-owned and -operated Greek diner with loads of local charm and consistently satisfying Mediterranean fare.

The Scene
Simple, friendly and airy, this U-District institution has the affable atmosphere of a Greek cafe, with owners George and Helen Lagos and son, Demetre, doting on regulars like family. Save for a few vibrant photos of Greece hanging on the walls, decor is unfussy and utilitarian. Weekdays, students and professors fill the linoleum-tiled dining room with animated conversation, while weekends bring out large groups for brunch with the kids.

The Food
The Lagos took over in 1974. Quality and consistency remain hallmarks. Breakfast (served all day) comes with eggs, golden, oregano-flecked Greek fries and souvlaki, bacon or sausage. Or try Greek standards like lentil-lemon chicken soup, dolmas or gyro sandwiches on freshly baked rolls. Specials usually include some variation of chicken in lemon, garlic and olive oil, as well as a fresh seafood option. Authentic ingredients, homemade baklava and Greek wines are available in the deli.

Absolutely Mouth-Watering!!!!

by erinanne79

My favorite Greek restaurant far and away. The owners are always there and incredibly friendly. Don't miss the souvlakia! I can't recommend it highly enough. It fed me through college when I often dined with one friend, we've celebrated birthdays and events there, and now we take our children there.

European Flair

by paul_reed_smith

The Continentals great food, service and international atmosphere make it a real find. I especially like the foreign language conversation groups that meet here every week: German on Tuesday, French on Wednesday and Spanish on Thursday nights.

Its a unique little bit of Europe in the U District.

  • Pros: great greek food, inexpensive, atmosphere

Wonderful Experience

by nikrharper

The Continental represents exactly what a neighborhood resturant should be. The owners are extremely friendly, the service is phenomenal, and the food is wonderful.

I highly recommend that everyone in the neighborhood get to know the Lagos family and if they do, I'm sure that they will frequent the resturant often.
