I stayed at the Silver Cloud over by University Village recently and will not stay there again, nor will I recommend it to friends or family. The hotel was nice when it first opened, but it has gone downhill. The check-in clerk was a dense, yet over-confident seattlitey, you know the type, a sort of phony sophistication, annoying and laughable at the same time. All I wanted was a room, and some rest, this guy dragged out the check-in process to the point of my exasperation. The room had several appliance problems, though it was clean. Then they over charged me. I paid for a crumby room what I would have paid for something nice, with hospitality and conscious design, the Silver Cloud had neither.
