The Best Accidental Find I Have Ever Made
by Zak
My girlfriend and I were getting tired of waiting 45 minuted to get in to the Dish so we thought we would give the Moose a try and I am not sure if we have been back to the Dish since. Not to disparage the Dish but Senor Moose has since become an addiction.
They not only offer a unique breakfast with the Mexican menu (personal favorites are the machacca and the chorizo with cactus), but the traditional
American breakfast is outstanding. They serve the best corned beef hash I believe that I will ever taste. I can't even order it anywhere else.
As if that weren't enough, they also serve the best refill coffee I've ever found.
- Pros: Best breakfast I have ever had.
- Cons: I let too many people know about it.
Tasty, well prepared Mexican food if you don't mind a line
by gakl
It's tasty, they are good with spices, and it's prepared fast. No frills.
The enchiladas are delicious. Food is very heavy and you should come hungry.
Prices are average--dinner around $25/person overall w/ drinks. Slightly on the expensive side for mexican, especially given decor (although, I kinda like it). On the other hand, where the hell else arey ou going to find Mexican food worth a damn in Seattle?
- Pros: Great food, nice vibe.
- Cons: Line @ door, uninhabitably hot in the summer, slightly pricey for mexican.
Authentic Mexican Food at SENOR MOOSE!
by smoke_it
Their guacamole, first off, IS TO DIE FOR! They fry and salt their own chips to order so it's fresh and delicious. I just had the enchilada suiza for lunch at it was fantastic! It had a hint of lime in the creamy green salsa that gave it a little zip. The prices are reasonable, the food is fresh, I will never eat at Azteca again!!
- Pros: Delicious Authentic Mexican, Fresh and Tasty
- Cons: No wonder there's always a line at dinner time!
Delicious non-standard Mexican fare!
by ladyjame
Friends recommended this place to us and we've gone back several times. Sometimes it can be hard to get in to, but worth the wait. The hubs had a shrimp dish that he loved and I always have the carne asada. Honestly, I could just get the queso fundido and eat it with the chips and salsa sampler and I'd be completely stuffed! They have large portions that you can almost share with a friend and munch on chips and salsa. Go at the beginning of the dinner hour if you can and you'll be seated right away. Also good for those eating alone because they have a sit down diner-type bar area you can perch on and eat.
- Pros: Excellent food, great service
- Cons: small dining area and parking can be difficult in Ballard.
Authentic Mexican in Ballard
by jtflynn
Senor Moose Cafe was an unexpected find - it doesn't look that promising from the outside, but once seated, everything was fantastic. Margaritas were just right and the food was authentic Mexican, probably some of the best I have had. Service was attentive and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back!
- Pros: food, service
- Cons: crowded, noisy

An authentic Mexican restaurant wedged in the industrial part of Ballard, this restaurant serves traditional American cuisine as well as genuine Mexican fare.
Regionally-inspired Mexican recipes and a homey vibe are making this Ballard cafe increasingly popular at breakfast and beyond.

The Scene
Proprietor Kathleen Andersen spent more than 20 years in Mexico before she returned to the States, bringing her appreciation for the diversity of Mexican cuisine with her and a cache of recipes inspired by her travels. Bright pink walls, twinkling Christmas lights, rustic wooden tables, and an array of Mexican folk art convey an authentic, homey feel, while the casual, friendly servers helpfully navigate the regionally-divided menu.
The Food
Breakfast offerings are primarily variations of egg dishes, augmented by homemade black beans and warm corn tortillas, though traditional American breakfast is served as well. Huevos machaca is a carnivore-pleasing scramble of richly spiced shredded beef and eggs, topped with perfectly ripe avocado, while diners open to unconventional flavor marriages should opt for huevos motuleños, featuring smoky diced ham, bright green peas, and fresh plantain slices. Dinner selections include pork or chicken mole, carne asasda and an array of taco options.
very good

Good old fashion Ma and Pa restaurant, casual, modest prices, delicious food, unpretentious and excellent service and "cheers like atmosphere", I ate there many times and will go again soon.
- Pros: low priced, friendly atmosphere, good food
- Cons: street parking, needs updating, wall/deco change
