DON'T EVER EAT HERE!

by bigkid43

I went here with a party of 12 that I called in earlier and they said they would be ready at 6pm. We waited 45 min to sit down, we had to split our tables, it took another 45 minutes to get a beer, after I asked to see a manager and stood at the kitchen door, the manager snuck out some other side way and refused to see me. I refused to pay for the drinks I did order and gave my card so the manager can call me to get his money. He/She never called. OUCH, that was horrible service and it was before the Trans Siberian Orchestra, it was a huge sore spot for such a great event. DON'T EVER EAT HERE!!!!!

In addition, I called the day after to attempt to give the manager a chance and find out what the h*ll happened, the waitress refused to give me to a manager, then she handed me off to someone else, who listened to my complaint, THEN HUNG UP ON ME!!!! OMG, DON'T YOU EVER DARE EAT HERE, SAVE YOUR MONEY, VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLARS and EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE!

  • Pros: Close to Key Arena
  • Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE!

There is probably better Mexican food close bye‎

by Coop540

Took my family here while on vacation in Seattle based in part based on the recommendation from the front desk staff at our hotel. There are two locations across the street from one another, we ate at the larger location. Dinner was preceded with usual tortilla chips. pico de gallo and spicy picante. The chips were nice and warm and the condiments tasty. I ordered a margarita. It was not very good. Our dinners were served nice and warm, but every dish was noticeably salty. Service was fair. Dinner for 4 was $50 plus tip. With all of the choices near bye, I'm sure there must be better places to go for good Mexican food.

  • Pros: Nice warm tortilla chips and condiments, Food arrived warm
  • Cons: Wobbely tables and chairs, salty food and mediocre service

Mediocre with a few high points

by jeannette777

We went on a Thursday at 7 and sat in a dining room that only ever got about 25% full.

Higlights: 1) Service was EXCELLENT. Fast, polite, remembered every request and substitution for our large-ish, high-maintenance group. And 2) my friend who ordered the pollo a la crema received amazing homemade flour tortillas with it. Those were easily the best foood item.

Mostly bad or mediocre: Another riend's beef tacos came in those store-bought hard shells. My taco al pastor had an ok marinade (a touch sour), but came in a store-bought soft corn tortilla that is lower quality than the store-bought corn tortillas I buy for tacos at home. The red salsa mainly justs tastes like black pepper (so wrong). My enchilada had a mediocre sauce and was covered in, like, a pound of cheese. Food was bland. Every chili-based sauce seemed like it came from a can or a dry mix. There is no option for a Margarita mixed with fresh juice, rather than a citric acid based mixer, and there is a limited selection of tequila.

You might enjoy this restaurant more than me if you don't care about authenticity. Food was mostly not Mexican, but produce and meat quality were pretty good. So, if your favorite "Mexican" food is a burrito, and the location is convenient to you, you might as well go.

  • Pros: service, location
  • Cons: authenticity

You've got to be kidding me... good mexican food?!!!

by laurapwilson

I have two relatives with Mexican restaurants, but unfortunately I don't live close to them. Jalisco's is the closest I can get to Mexican food without driving. Not just is this not acceptable authentic Mexican food, but this even makes a mockery of Mexican-American food. I got the Carne Asada and it might as well have been beef jerky, it was so dry. My boyfriend got the enchiladas and I guess they weren't as bad, but they weren't anything to write home about. The service was absolutely horrible, I guess they have to keep it bad like their quality. Whoever said that Jalisco's uses fresh ingredients must have never ate anything that wasn't frozen products. I wouldn't recommend this place to even my worse enemy. If you don't have a car and are looking for descent Mexican food, I suggest you take the bus to avoid this one.

  • Pros: The ambience of the bar seemed fun
  • Cons: everyhting else

Very Good Mexican

by lord_humongous

Jalisco serves the regular entrees you'll find on any Mexican restaurant's menu but with fresher ingredients. In fact, the decor and service were exactly the same as every other family-style Mexican restaurant but the fresher ingredients brings Jalisco a step above the rest. Definitely worth a visit if you are a fan of Mexican food.

  • Pros: Great Food, Good Service

Great quesadillas!!

by brandy582

I went on a saturday night and although it was packed, we were seated promptly and it didn't take long to get our food. There was some karaoke going on so we considered it free entertainment!!

This reliable local chain features Americanized Mexican for a wide array of diners.

In Short
Jalisco's six locations are a popular choice for the shirt-sleeve weekday lunch crowd. In the evenings, young margarita drinkers fill the place and the noise level rises. All the usual menu items are here--enchiladas, burritos, tacos, tostadas--plus a few regional items, including chicken mole. Try any of the enchilada plates, or the chili verde.

Fresh Mexican food

by kheh

Jalisco has fresh food, excellent service and a festive homey atmosphere. Every time we come in we're greeted as cousins. It's all traditional, no neo-Southwest or Mexican stuff here, but the portions are huge and the food tastes yummy!

  • Pros: delicious food, excellent service, happy staff
  • Cons: little noisy on wknds

Help...I'm retaining cheese!!

by Franzilla

Oh my gawd....I've never seen so much cheese on a plate of food in my life. My friend ordered a combo plate which was supposed to come with sides of beans and rice. I ordered Jaliscos Super Nachos. When our food arrived hers just looked like a plate full of melted cheese. She dug around in it to try and find the sides, but they were all enmeshed in cheese. She was supposed to have chile relleno, enchilada and tamale...they all tasted the same...cheesey. My nachos at least had a little color with the tomatoes and quacamole, but there was so much cheese on top that all of the chips were soggy and greasy...the whole meal was just pretty disgusting. Did I mention all the cheese?

(staff was really nice and very friendly)

  • Pros: nice staff
  • Cons: cheese, cheese, cheese
