Awesome happy hour, great crowd
by jooz
Went with a group and had a blast, good happy hour prices, fun atmosphere, good music, and some cuties, what more could you ask for in a local watering hole?
- Pros: Beauties and the beats
- Cons: none
lacking professionalism and ethics, i would have been taken advantge of had i not checked...

watch your tab in this place. i and a group of about 12 had food and drinks and as the tab showed up we were told to simply put our initials next to what we were responsible for to include with our payment. i don't normally go over my tab but noticed mine was about 20% higher than it should be. the server explained that the tab was not covered entirely so she simply put the remaining balance on my card. never said a word to me about it. she now explained that this is just "what they do." the manager approached (a glorified bar tender) and made it clear he was only going to back his server. they were both speaking to me at once, which was a lot of fun for our group and anyone at an adjacent table. when i explained that this was the equivilent of fraud and theft, the guy actually asked me to not come back. i emailed the owner who responded with a canned "there was confusion, we strive to offer excellent service" i then asked him to explain what he understood the confusion to be as it was a blatant scenario to me. he never responded. i was refunded my entire tab, which i left the discrepancy as cash in a tip. it wasn't about the money, it was about being taken advantage of. i do business in the QA area, i will never entertain a client there.
Great if you don't mind the crowds

I went to Paragon on a Friday night with two friends for dinner and drinks. We got there towards the evening and it was absolutely packed but managed to find a table in the back. Our waitress was attentive and very helpful in her recommendations and the food was delicious. The only downside was the terrible cocktail I received and the loud/bad live music. Fortunately, our waitress was more than happy to have my cocktail remade to my satisfaction without any hassle. Paragon is a nice neighborhood place, but get there in the early evening if you want seating-- and maybe avoid the terrible live bands ;o).
- Pros: attentive waitstaff, nice ambience, good people watching, food
- Cons: parking, overly-crowded, bad live bands
Good food, excellent service
by tangotraveller
Went on Monday night, and sat at an outside table. The waiter did an excellent job of coursing our meal, and even split our entree without having to be asked. They had a lovely Stag's leap Cabernet by the glass, worth the $12.50 if you like good reds. I've had good food and good service consistently, but I avoid the place on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Pros: Good Food, good wine list
If you live in Queen Anne, it's great.

But beware, Queen Anne has a bit of a "scene" about itself. The food is good. The people watching can be great. The bands are generally not good. The guys hitting on girls in the bar, very bad.
Comfy, Classy, and Casual

We visited Paragon on a whim (drove by) and we definitely felt at home. Fireside booth, soft lighting, terrific bruschetta palette (will come back just for that) and great service. No live music while we were there, but the casual QA atmosphere and comfortable wooden booths (oxymoron?) were the best of PNW culture.
- Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Service
Jazz, drinks, dining and romance for 30-somethings with cash.

In Short
Singles favor the lounge, especially on Friday and Saturday, while couples of all ages snuggle into the dim, plushly comfortable dining room. Nearly everyone dresses downtown-chic. The skirt steak and the pork rib chops are popular dishes for full scale dinners, while the classic garlic chicken wings are frequently seen as a spicy snack to accompany cocktails. Dessert is often skipped--leaving more time for romance.

Shawn Speed is the awesome DJ and has provided some unbelievably S-I-C-K entertainment!! The food (especially the Calamari Salad) was first rate... thanks for such an incredible evening. The atmosphere cannot be BEAT and the swanky crowd was friendly and tanked!
Casual good dinner/meat market nights
by Gatina
I do understand why the reviews vary wildly; You will probably LOVE PARAGON if you understand WHEN to go for the experience that you are looking for. Paragon is a club by night, and a restaurant by day -- You REALLY HAVE TO BE AWARE/PLAN WHEN you go to eat there, or the eating experience will be ruined by the pick-up bar nature of the place that takes over.Translation: lunch is always OK, dinner without meat-market ends at 7 p.m. Sunday through Thurs., at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The second reason for some really bad reviews is inconsistent service. When it's bad, it means long waits for the food and some real attitude by the waitstaff that acts like it can't be bothered to help you out. The food is good and drinks are just fine. A must-do, at least once, for the people watching, for anyone in Seattle.
- Pros: people watching!, pretty good food, good wines/drinks
- Cons: pick ups/dining mix, inconsistent service
A+ Food w/ Fabulous Servic
by mayla2002
I have never encountered such great service. The servers are incredibly nice and I can't say enough good words about the perfectly prepared, tasty food (brunch, lunch and dinner). I would recommmend the Paragon to anyone who wants great food and service for a very reasonable price. I give the Paragon an A+ in my books.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Great service, Excellent food
- Cons: smoking at 10pm
