Romantic neighborhood italian

by seattlespagirl

My fiance and I love this restaurant. We used to live in Ballard and went to that one. And the Queen Anne one is just as food. The waiters are very friendly and polite. And the food is very good! I like their appetizer bread and dipping sauce. Simple, yet scrumptious. I had a chicken salad and it was really good!

  • Pros: good food
  • Cons: What are the drawbacks?

Not Overly Impressed

by nicki777

My boyfriend and I have lived in Queen Anne for years and never tried out Pasta Bella, so when we saw it was in our Entertainment Book we decided to give it a shot. We went on a Sunday evening and when we arrived there was only one other table, which was great because we got to sit at a comfortable booth by the fireplace. The decor at Pasta Bella reminded me of a Mitzel's chain restaurant - kind of like being in my Grandmother's house. We started off with the house Montepulciano, which wasn't bad for the price($12.99 for a half liter). We ordered a mixed green salad but the waiter informed us that they were out of mixed greens so we got spinach instead. The salad was just ok, with tiny bits of nuts and some gorgonzola cheese. The bread was nice and warm and served with a few cloves of roasted garlic, which was nice. The entrees were far from impressive. I ordered a seafood pasta dish of prawns, scallops, and angel hair with greek olives, tomato, and a wine-tomato sauce ($16.95). The main problem with the dish was that the pasta was SO overcooked that the texture was like mush in my mouth. The seafood was ok, but overall the dish lacked flavor. My boyfriend ordered a Sicilian pasta dish with Italian sausage and penne - also slightly bland. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes, but luckily my boyfriend's entree was free(due to the entertainment card) so we weren't overly disappointed. The service was good - our server was very attentive. We had some spumoni for dessert - a nice sized bowl and very tasty. We probably wouldn't go back and pay full price, but I'm fairly critical being Italian myself and regularly spoiled on Mom's cooking.

  • Pros: Good Service, comfortable booths, spumoni
  • Cons: Not so great entrees, mushy pasta

Delicious food and excellent service

by gourmandechezelle

I went to Pasta Bella on a Sunday evening. It was one of those great Seattle nights where only sitting outside will do! Their deck is great and we enjoyed the fresh air and italian music playing on the stereo system. Our waiter was charming and kind and the food was delicious! The portions are generous, flavorful and extremely tasty. We loved how they served roasted garlic with the bread. The one negative point to make was the bread. The bread they serve is pretty flavorless and its poor texture distracts from the roasted garlic. With that great roasted garlic, they should serve a better quality, nice and crusty bread! Apart from that, everything was great and I will be going back!

Great italian food, service, and Very romantic

by foodsnob62

Went here on a date, it was so great! The restaurant had low light but was brightened up after all the candle were lit, and the fireplace was turned on. The bread they bring you before your meal comes out was great, and it came with a side bowl filled with 5 or 6 roasted garlic cloves. Perfect for your bread and it was delicious. I got the pasta milano, which was very good. and my date got the seafood fettucine. Greattttttt Great! Take your date here!!

  • Pros: Great food, Very Romantic, Good selection of entrees
  • Cons: Parking

Disappointing price jack on New Year's Eve - shame on you!

by jnew1223

I am a fan of Pasta Bella, the service and food have never disappointed. However, after our experience this New Years Eve I doubt we'll be eating here again. We made reservations and were seated promptly upon arrival. A "special" New Years Eve menu was presented to us, but there was nothing special or out of the ordinary about the menu as it was a limited version of PB's regular menu but with jacked up pricing. We decided to stay since we've never had a bad experience here, however, we couldn't help feeling a bit screwed after we left and noticed that they hadn't even bothered to remove the regular menu from the display outside the restaurant. The food was fine although they skimped on the usual whole roasted garlic head and gave us a few cold cloves. Shame on you Pasta Bella for alienating your regular customers to take advantage of folks wanting a nice meal on New Years Eve, you've lost our business.

Romantic Setting, Good Food

by lt7

I went here on my birthday and the restaurant is very cute and romantic. In the summer they have a great deck and I like to go here in the winter too because the inside is so cute. It's never that busy so reservations aren't necessary. I've had some good dishes here, including the ravioli and the bruschetta is wonderful. Service is good.

  • Pros: Good food, great ambience & location, good service
  • Cons: A few dishes weren't that great, parking

Good Italian Food

by hungryinshoreline

Let me make it clear by saying that I am not much of a Marinara sauce and Cheese fan (Blame my South Asian taste buds), so usually its tough for me to like Italian food, but Pasta Bella has made me a convert.

Its a small and Charming place at Queen Anne hill and as usual parking is a pain but the ambience is nice and if you have a good seat, its romantic as well

They start by serving Bread with rosted Garlic cloves which I would say are not as good as at Black Angus or even Olive Garden ( dont scream ). The Menu has the usual favorites. I liked their risotto and have tasted their creamy alfredo pasta. But my Favorite is a chicken breast dish which is rolled wrapped in spinach and raisins and pinenuts in a sweet marsala sauce served with vegetables and alfredo pasta.

This is one place whose dessert menu is to die for....be it creme brulee or the yummy cannoli's filled with fresh sweet cream. I love them all.

  • Pros: Good Food, MidScale prices
  • Cons: Slow Service, Parking

To die for!

by prinlin22

I love Pasta Bella. Beginning with the bread and roasted garlic, it is an awesome experience all the way through. The crab and spinach artichoke is insanely good, and my boyfriend can never decide which chicken dish to get because they are all so delicious. My only complaint is the scallops. They were sandy and rubbery. Other than that, the menu is spectacular. Try the outdoor deck in the summer; you can enjoy a nice lunch and drink while watching the world go by down below.

  • Pros: Good food, Decent service, Atmosphere

Can't Beat it...

by ryancoc206

Pasta Bella gives you an experience you truly will never forget. Located in such a prime location on top of Queen Anne, this cozy Italian joint will keep you coming back for more. It is such an ideal place for a wonderful date with dim lighting, a tasteful wine selection, and you must try the eggplant! There will always be a place in my heart for this restaurant.... Thank you!

Sincerely, Ryan Conley
