pretty good

Some dishes aren't fantastic, but that is true just about anywhere. If you go for nothing else, get the lettuce wraps. They are addictive.
- Pros: lettuce wraps
- Cons: parking (but it's capitol hill, so....)
Awesome food

My sister and I eat here at the Capitol Hill location frequently because the food is WONDERFUL. Seriously. I have never had a bad experience here. I really recommend the Rose Chicken and the Mongolian Vegetarian. They are fabulous. The service is always prompt, and everyone is very friendly. The only thing is it can be hard to find parking in that area sometimes, but once you're there, I have no complaints at all. One of the best in Seattle.
- Pros: The menu, service
- Cons: Parking (during peak times)
Not the Greatest

I went to this restaurant in Bellevue on the recommendation of my son, who had had tea at the Capitol Hill location. He ordered tea, and I ordered the Singapore noodles and ice water. We were both annoyed by the hostess' urging of us to try the watermelon juice (at $4.00 a glass!). The service was slow. The noodles had a nice curry flavour, but very little tofu and rubbery bits of fake meat. I would certainly ask them not to use the fake meat the next time and give me more tofu. All in all, I wouldn't go back too soon (if ever) as I felt it was overpriced for the quality of the food.

We didn't even get to try the food. We were seated, ordered, and after 25+ minutes of wait, we ask the waitress if they had at least started cooking our food and got a no as an answer. Pretty remarkable, especially when the place was half full. So we left, not even getting an apology. The menu looked terribly boring and overpriced so it was perhaps a good thing that they only wasted our time but at least didn't take an of our money. 7 dollars for a miso soup, and I can't even order a cup? 2.5 dolars for a tea?? come on.
Good Begetarian House

I am definately a meat eater, so when a friend brought me here, I was kind of concerned. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I tasted my friend's rose drummlets..they were pretty good. The dumplings were also tastey..and I loved the Thai green curry..one of the best curries that I have had. The waitress we had was very nice and helpful with making menu selections.
- Pros: good curry, nice atmosphere
Best "Fake Meat" Dishes Anywhere

I love this restaurant. I'm a vegetarian, and the selection is remarkable. Don't miss the Rose Chicken!! The new location on 15th provides a more romantic, yet still casual, setting.
- Pros: delicious food
Salt Lick Gravy

I was starving, and am a vegetarian... I was on 15th, saw the TeaPot sign (Veg food) and was psyched....
OMG, it sucked!!! The dumpling shell was way too thick and gooey as if it were microwaved. The tofu, pea and mushroom dish (that looked pretty and fresh and nicely plated in the photo on the menu) was a bowl of thick gelatinous gravy that tasted like salt, salt, salt... The Tom Yum soup was the only thing edible, but it was a very thoughtless broth, chili sauce made the only flavor, no lemongrass, etc. Lame!
- Pros: Interior was OK, server was nice
- Cons: Food is terrible
I have a few favorites

I have to agree that many of the dishes here have a familiar flavor, and yes...they can be a bit heavy handed with the sauces at times.
My favorites at Teapot are the Hot sour soup (I can't get enough of this! So much stuff in there) and the garlic green beans. For a good value, get a combination plate. For ten bucks, you just can't beat it. For vegan, this is good food. The desserts are divine.
I like their new location better than the old one, it's definitely not as cheesy and smells better.
- Pros: Large menu selection, creative dishes
- Cons: A bit overpriced.
Disappointed, again.

Well, its official, apparently Seattle, cant do Asian, vegetarian or otherwise. As a sometimes practicing vegetarian I was very hopeful when I discovered another Asian vegetarian restaurant. Unfortunately the results were less then pleasing.
This is my second time eating there and neither of the meat substitutes have really offered much. The beef from the beef and broccoli has the fibrous texture of carrots and tastes strangely of cinnamon (or is that Chinese five spice?).
The price is relatively high given the expenses which seem to have been cut on decor and wait-staff. Each time I have been they have been understaffed and the two waiters have been rushing around obviously unable to handle the moderate customer load. The decorations are ok but show definite sign of cost cutting which make otherwise nice ambiance feel cheap. All-in-all, another disappointment for Asian cuisine in Seattle.
Teapot Vegetarian is awful experience.

Once you are seated promptly, the tea game begins. The goal of the tea game? To see how much they charge you for tea.
They don't allow you to share tea unless you pay extra at this place. Seems kind of funny for a place called "teapot". And the service sucks.
I usually tip extremely well, but went I went to this place I had no reservations about not tipping a dime.
I'm not a vegetarian, but if options were this bad I can assure you that I'd be eating prime rib every night.
The food is nothing to write home about and doesn't seem well balanced. I've gone twice and it's always too sweet.
With all the great Asian food in Seattle don't waste your time here. I'll never go again.
- Pros: Prompt Seating
- Cons: Crappy Service, Shady Tea Protocols, Food isn't desirable
