Excellent

I have been coming here for years. Always the best food, service and price. This is the neighborhood place to be for quality Mexican food. I have been away for several months and this was my first trip back fir dinner. New name, same terrific staff, same awesome cooks. It is now called El Farol for those that want to know.
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Most comfortable room in Seattle
by jrt
The folks who work here are consistently kind, warm, and welcoming from the moment you walk in the door. It's full of regulars who keep to themselves, too. It's bright and clean.
It's not Lark, Presse, or whatever. It's predictably good food (esp. if you wander off to something with chorizo) with cheap, sticky sweet margaritas. We love to dine at fine restaurants, but a no-attitude, totally welcoming place beats them on most regular days.
- Pros: Consistently kind-hearted service (and fast)
- Cons: If you get a typical American-Mexican cheese bomb, blame yourself
Poor Service and Extra Fees for Take Out
by en22
I had horrible take out service here at the restaurant on Capitol Hill. First, I was over charged ($10.00 for an $8.50 combo meal for 3 tacos plus bean and rice). I did not know where the extra fees came from considering tax is not $1.50 here for an $8.50 meal. I was told it was a service fee 'for packaging'. However, I did not have any napkins or utensils - which I realized when I got home. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for authentic or to receive actual utensils to eat with when you pay for their apparent extra fees that cover 'packaging'. A $1.50 is not much but when you are a student, every dollar counts.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Extra fees for take out
Ameri-Mexican fare that pleases a wide array of diners.

In Short
Jalisco's six locations are a popular choice for the shirt-sleeve weekday lunch crowd. In the evenings, young margarita drinkers fill the place and the noise level rises. All the usual menu items are here--enchiladas, burritos, tacos, tostadas--plus a few not-so-usual items, including chicken en mole. The menu is expansive--it even includes cheeseburgers. Try any of the enchilada plates, or the chile verde.
I like this location...

...it's unassuming, and small. Plus there are close by places if you wanna go for coffee afterwards...granted you have room still. Yes, the food is good, the staff are very friendly too, and the place is clean: the usual standards you'd want.
- Pros: food, service, cleanliness
- Cons: parking
Enchiladas muy buena!~
by ttothek
I've never left this place feeling hungry~ I usually feel like I have to waddle to my car. I always order some kind of Enchildada plate, usually the Enchiladas Jalisco. It comes with guacomole, and sour cream, on a bed of lettuce and tomato!! If you want to eat that, I recommend you not eating for the whole day before hand. The chips and salsa are very good too. The service is always excellent. I've been going here for about 5 years now and never had a bad meal! On weekends and Friday nights, this place can get packed so arrive early. They also have fantastic margaritas though my favorite is the Chi-Chi.....found out what it is and you wont be sorry!
- Pros: Great food, great service, great price
- Cons: parking can be bad, it's Capitol Hill after all.
Best mex in the city

No better place to have a great mexican meal with friends. Plenty of chips and salsa to start off, lots of great entrees for your meal. Pollo Macho is unbeatable (chicken in spicy peanut sauce), the mole is pretty tasty, sopitos are a treat too. And for gringos like my friend Eugene, they even have a cheeseburger that he rates as quite good. Friendly and prompt service. It's a winner.
