This place is great because they really care about thier customers. My dog left looking great and was happier than he has ever been after a day at the groomers.

Maddy's Favorite Place

by Ecamper

I'm the owner of a very lovable, yet very timid (and VERY hairy) labradoodle named Maddy whose lack of suitable social manners had kept me away from the groomers for far too long. At the recommendation of a friend I took her into The Grooming Spa where I was instantly impressed by the friendly staff whose love of animals was very obvious. I was still so nervous to leave her and a little embarrassed that it had been so long since I had her groomed! The man that helped me made me feel very comfortable and when I came back to pick Maddy up I didn’t even recognized her she looked so nice! 2 years later, I am still going to The Grooming Spa in Greenlake. They know me and my dog by name and Maddy actually looks forward to going every month. I would recommend The Grooming Spa to anyone!

Terrific experience at this spa

by mrsprince

We had a wonderful first time experience at this spa after adopting a senior lady Siberian husky in need of winter coat grooming. The staff gave an accurate estimate of time and price involved so we knew what to expect and did an excellent job on our new dog. We got the oatmeal bath for her and she smelled amazing for a week! The staff seemed very familar with this breed and gave her a "hydrotherapy bath" to help with removal of the undercoat. I would recommend this business to any dog owner and will definitely be back!

  • Pros: Excellent staff and customer service
  • Cons: Typical parking hassles due to location; none with spa

Preschoolers with scissors do better

by NathanL

If you're looking to have your dog groomed at the Grooming Spa, you can save yourself the money and take him/her to a preschool class instead. Simply arm the kids with scissors, and let them have at it. Voila! The Grooming Spa experience for free.

I have a Scottish Terrier who is very friendly and outgoing. Most people know Scottish Terriers by their coats. Unfortunately, whoever groomed my dog must never have seen one before. When I picked up my dog (after paying, unfortunately, I'll never make that mistake again) I was surprised by how sloppy he looked. There was no blending between the back of the coat and the skirt, just a very severe, very unstraight line made by the clippers. One ear had about an inch and a half tuft of fur left in front of it, and the other had none. It's like someone did the other half and didn't stop to check what the first half looked like. Nothing was done to the tail, it looks unkempt and unshaped.

The worst part of it is that now when I go to trim him with the scissors he cowers from me. He has never cowered (from me or anyone else) in the entire time I have owned him. I am completely beside myself to imagine what happened while I was gone that would make him act scared of me.

DO NOT BOTHER.

I've tried both locations. BOTH ARE EXCELLENT!!!!

by trainertostars

I have been to Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, and countless others in California and Florida. This place would do SO WELL if they went there. They are among the world class grooming establishments I've been to. They not only know how to do the cut I asked for, they did more than any other place I've been to--and it was included in the price. I never write, but when I found them online, I decided to give them the accolades they deserve. Definitely worth a try, and yes, they are worth the price.

  • Pros: Upscale to include a cafe while I waited. Extremely dog friendly, and I go what I asked for.
  • Cons: Parking

Best Yet

by artemisgrrls

My beautiful and timid english bulldog has had enough of bullying nail clipping.

Gooming SPA is in our neighborhood and Olivia happily trots over to have her nails cared for.

We have always just walked in, and are always greeted with delight and care.

I have takien Olivia there a half-dozen times now with consistent care and professionalism.

I am so grateful for your services and would highly recommend the Spa for any timid dog and/or pet owner!

If you really love your dog, read this.

by dr_sw

If you really care about pampering your dog AND yourself, you have to try this place. I loved the experience not only for my best buddy, but for me, too. We were treated very professionally, but at the same time, we had fun.

I've tried a lot of other places that seem like they're trying to copy these guys, but after trying a few other places, we realized we made a mistake and haven't gone anywhere else since. The service and atmosphere can't be matched. Do yourself and your best friend a favor. Try these guys out. You'll be happy you did.

A God-Send; One of the best places I've been in 20 years.

by abrightfutureawaits

I happened upon the Groomingspa about 8 years ago. I brought in my 12 year old husky for some much-needed hair removal. She needed extra special care because her hips were going out.

These people were the most kind, knowledgeable people that I have encountered in 30 years of pet ownership.

They even referred me to an accupuncturist which gave my dog a few extra months of pain-free existence.

Groomingspa staff were ALWAYS concerned about the well-being of my dog. She was my everything. They treated her as if she was their own. That's why I love this place.

I now have two other dogs. I continue to go there based on my past experience and have no hesitation to recommend them to ANYONE!!!!!!

Rarely do I write reviews, but I am compelled to let other pet owners know--if you are looking for a well-respected and established grooming facility that is extremely clean and modern, look no further: this is the place for you.

SENT MY DOG TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM

by okiem

I recently brought my dog here for a haircut and ended up having to take him to the emergency room. When I picked him up the groomers never mentioned to me that they had cut him. I brought him home and he wouldn't stop shaking. That is when I noticed he had a very deep, dime-sized gouge taken out of his belly, and for a six-pound dog, this is a very serious injury. The doctor said that the wound was most definitely caused by a clipper that had snagged his skin and ripped out a large piece of flesh. The wound was on the midline seam of his belly and if he didn't get stitches he was in serious danger of ripping further. The next morning, I returned to the Grooming Spa and told them what happened. They immediately denied and just as quickly admitted to injuring him, then glossed over the severity of his injury. I can understand that accidents happen but their failure to notify me completely betrayed my trust and put my dog in danger. I will not bring him back.

Response from this business

groomingspa-1September 06, 2008 at 20:17:01 PDT

We responded to your concerns in a professional and timely manner. Also, we paid for all expenses related to your concerns, even though this is not required.

You indicated "Happiness" in how we responded. Yet, you felt the need to post such unsubstaniated claims. We had the dog veterinarily evaluated to our exoneration.

We wish you luck on finding a better fit for your expectations.

We do make VERY RARE mistakes, but this, we fear, was not one of them. But we paid your expenses none-the-less, in a good faith effort.

Your dog is great, and we only wish you find a better fit for your needs.
