Seattle's Best

by CSMobileUser

Located away from busy intersections in a small part of town, don't be fooled by this sushi resturant's outside appearance. This is the best sushi joint I've been to in a while. I have tried many sushi from Austin, TX to Boston, MA and this is close to the top of my list for best sushi. They offer generous portions, without skimping out. The fish is very fresh and high quality. If anyone were to visit just one sushi resturant in all of Seattle, I would strongly recommend this place! -Sw

Go to Tokyo, stay in Seattle

by orangehouse

For good sushi, good service and good atmosphere, this is the place to go. It's not the coolest or most expensive in town. Those are just a few go things we enjoy about ST. You don't have to wait in long lines, the sushi is fresh and the people are great.

  • Pros: It's all good.
  • Cons: Too many menu options.

Always fresh and tasty

by BrittC

When my boyfriend and I moved up to Seattle we searched for great sushi at many restaurants, but we didn't find any until we went to Sushi Tokyo. The fish is so fresh and they have a really good selection. The prices are reasonable as well. It also had a nice relaxing atmosphere, I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good sushi. We are never disappointed.

Best sushi ever!

by tcmmodel206

This place has the best sushi in town! I have tried so many sushi joints all over the city of Seattle and this one is by far the best. My husband and I go at least once every two weeks sometimes once a week. It is affordable and fresh every time. The owners, Woo and Young are always super friendly and the service is great. I would suggest this place if you want a casual sushi dinner for less money.

  • Pros: The best rolls in Seattle
  • Cons: Not so fancy

An undiscovered Sushi haven!!!

by EASpencer17

Regarding others feedback: All the PRO's are correct, but any remarks prior to 2004 are not relative. The restaurant is under new ownership. Woo and Yung took over in 2004. I found this location in 2006 by a random GPS search. I have traveled greatly and eaten at many locations only to find that this is one of the top 4 locations in the U.S. As for the Seattle market, this is the best priced fresh sushi I can find. I am very particular about my sushi and this is a place I would stake my reputation on. I take many friends or clients here and every one agrees that this is one of Seattle?s greatest sushi secrets. As for the owners and wait staff- you will find that they are all somewhat shy due to their English and culture, but know that if you take the time to sit at the bar and get to know them, they are very personable, pleasant, and take great care in your service and enjoyment. Afterwards you can walk two blocks south and enjoy a brew and darts at the pub. :)

Best in town for Sushi - cheap eats- great food

by redgrace328

This place was introduced to me by someone who works nearby. When I first walked in I thought not much ambiance to speak of. But the prices are very reasonable and often their special of the day comes with soup and salad for the same price as no soup and salad. Their sushi is OUTSTANDING. The pieces are huge! Each order comes with 10 pieces of sushi that are about 2" in diameter. I have tried numerous things on the menu and each and every time the sushi is the freshest, biggest, best tasting that I have had anywhere. Not a great date place because the service is slow and not the friendliest. But a great place to hang with friends and just eat really good cheap sushi. The pieces are so big that sharing is easy. It's usually my stop before a show a giggles which is down the street.

Don't miss the crunchy california roll or the asparagus roll! I live 20 minutes north of the city but when I want sushi this is the place I come to!

Great Sushi!

by jenfore

This is a great place for sushi--large portions, great combinations, wide variety. The tempura and bento boxes are also very good. The only drawback is the service, which can be unfriendly and slow (we had to ask for water four times, and when she finally brought it, without an apology, it was not cold and the glasses were half full). I would recommend it, though, for the quality of the sushi, particularly if you live on the north side and are looking for a neighborhood sushi spot.

  • Pros: Great sushi, Good ambiance

Sad..

by thisre

I was very dissapointed with their quality of sushi. Fish was cut as if they were steak, loose nigiri, etc. The place will be fine if you just wanna stuff yourself, but not the place to enjoy sushi.

  • Pros: location

Yuk!!!!

by sandidog

I can't believe that people actually liked this place and recommended it. My husband and I could not believe how awful this place was! I wouldn't call what they serve Sushi. Every sushi roll we had was tasteless and certainly not fresh. We had a couple of bites and could not even finish our food.

Massive sushi -so tasty!

by mielle

Like another user has said, this place has grown from mediocre to a standout for raw fish connoiseurs. The portions are huge, and the albacore (my downfall) is the best I've found in Seattle. The only drawback is the music. Either bad or very bad music plays continuously. But other than that, it's a great place to indulge in some raw fish (if that's your thing).

  • Pros: Portion size, good service, great prices
  • Cons: The music's gotta go
