Happy hour is okay, service could improve
by chubbybunnyone
I went here on a slow Friday with a couple friends for happy hour and the happy hour food and drink were decently priced. The food was good, but the service was slow and lacking, especially since we there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant.
The worst Mexican Food i have ever had!!!
by funkthehouse
I knew i was in trouble when the free chips were nasty (dry and hard) and the salsa was terrible too, way too hot!! the glasses of water had some crusty stuff around the edges too. My date and i had the worst food i have ever had!! we only at a fraction of what we ordered and then asked for the check, everything was covered in red mole sauce. If you want good mexican food go to Catcus in madison park or on Alki. You have been warned!!
- Pros: live music
- Cons: cheap red mole sauce on everything you order
most mediocre happy hour/ margaritas in town
by robertsc
"Don't you just hate it when a place has a great location and decides to just... not try?" my friend asked me half way into our margaritas. Yes, we were sitting outside and watching people, dogs and bikes make the Greenlake tour, but she had an incredible point. The lackluster (eg slow and discombobulated) service was perfectly paired with the weak and flavorless drinks. Needless to say, none of us were shocked when our server announced that she had mistakenly charged us happy hour prices because *happy hour prices do not apply when you are SITTING OUTSIDE!*- To her credit, she left the happy hour discount on our first round of drinks. Yup. If it weren't for their real estate, this place might have to try.
- Pros: view, people/dog watching watching
- Cons: drinks, happy hour, stale chips, service
SLOW service
by furayar
We walked around Green Lake and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. Tacos Guaymas looked busy but we were seated immediately. We got a basket of chips, no salsa, no water....and ate them slowly. Eventually, we were given a really hot salsa and ONE glass of water (for two of us). We asked the bus boy to send our waiter and he said that the waiter was wearing a black shirt. We flagged down the guy who was serving everyone else out on the patio in a black shirt and he said - uh...let me get your waiter. After about 30 minutes of waiting and no further attention from any staff, we left some money and left the restaurant. This is the first time either of us has ever eaten the complimentary chips and salsa and bailed before ordering. This experience was just unacceptable.
- Pros: Seemed reasonably priced, neat salsa bar
- Cons: Horrible service; salsas at bar not marked for heat!
Great little place
by greenlakegirl723
This place is great for dining in with family, hanging out in the bar on a date, or ordering to go. They have happy hour twice a day with a nice selection of food and drinks, but during regular hours they also have good deals on great food. The staff is nice, service is quick, and you can sit outside on a nice day. The steak nachos are really good, but share them with at least two other people, the portions are huge. My only bad experience was going to the all-ages side on a busy summer night; there were way too many kids running around. It's much safer in the bar, but the tables are really small.
- Pros: Great food, good happy hour
- Cons: Can be packed with kids
Mexican fare served in a simple, cheery restaurant.

In Short
Since most of the staff in this sunny taqueria speaks little English, any español at all will help when ordering. Meats--including cabeza (beef cheeks), slow-cooked carnitas (pork) and lengua (tongue)--are marinated in chili-infused sauces. The menu is long, offering everything from flautas to whole fried fish. The tacos are two grilled corn tortillas, filled with fish, meats or veggies and topped with homemade pico de gallo and fresh salsa.
fast and fulfulling

Fantastic! For quick and tastey mexican food come here. There is always outdoor seating available and the drinks are dee-licious.
- Pros: double drinks at single prices
- Cons: some food is pre made
Tacos Guaymas, without you, where would I be?
by mkr2
Fell in love with the super burritos in Burlington, mourned the loss when I came to Seattle. Realized there were many to chose from in King County and I recovered quickly! The staff at Greenlake Guaymas are an amazing group of people- meet them all! Best daiquiris I've ever had- try the rasp. Tortilla soup, steak picado or chicken salsa roja are to die for. Enjoy the view of the lake!
- Pros: friendly staff, delicious, affordable
Was a patron for years, now a place to avoid
by snokarver
I started eating there in 1999. I enjoyed it for years. The last dozen or so times I've eaten there, the service was slow (15-30 minutes before they would take my order) and the food was sub-par. The staff is disorganized, and customers are often left without wait staff. Even when I've received decent service, I've seen others growing in frustration.
Sometimes the dish delivered would not match the menu, and sometimes would not match what I ordered. Sure this stuff happens, but it happens here more than most other places. When the staff doesn't bother to talk to you again, after bringing the order, until they bring you a check the problem is complicated.
For the past two years I've tried it out again on occasion, hoping for change. However, the service remains the same and the food only goes downhill.
- Pros: Next to Green Lake
- Cons: Bad Service, Bad Atmoshpere
Need to Improve Food
by claytonmuhler
What happened to their tasty food? The last few times I've gone there, the tacos were a little pricey and could've used some flavoring. The beef was a little tough. Also, they should have better chips and salsa for when you wait. The location next to Green Lake is nice but since expanding, their quality has gone down hill.
- Pros: location to Greenlake, TV
- Cons: , stale chips
