Beer lover's comfort zone with local and well known brews on draft. Cozy with booths to stretch out in, basic grill grub and plenty of beer.

Great local spot with above-average food. The problem with most bars within a 3 mile radius of UW is that they're infiltrated by college-age kids. Not Latona. It might be playing the UW hoops game on the tv, but it feels like a place for adults, with funky wooden barstools, cozy booths and food options that make you double-take. The macaroni and cheese is one of the best in the city, especially when you add in the "optional" bacon and mushrooms. The burger comes on a Columbia City bun and the sausage plate is courtesy of Uli's in Pike Place Market. The tomato soup reminds me of my high school cafeteria's, and I mean that in the best way possible.

I feel fortunate to have a pub like this in my neighborhood. It's hard to go wrong with this as my default option.

They have a very 'glass half empty" attitude. Literally!. After living in several Seattle neighborhoods, I was looking forward to returning to my old digs on Latona. Instead of hitting our usual hangout (Leny's), we opted for the more sophisticated (or so we thought) atmosphere of the Latona Pub. As we were walking in, they were kicking out a patron whom they had over-served. Strike One. Then, they brought one of my friends the wrong beer (Strike Two). Then, when they brought another member in our party a re-fill on his Hefeweizen, the waiter brought him half a glass because they ran out. Then they tried to charge us for it. Strike Three AND Four.

Very good pub experience. We went to Latona Pub after a recommendation from a colleague and we weren't disappointed. For a pub, the food was very good. We ordered quesadillas which were quite interesting with mangoes in it, their humus plate is the best I have had (there was even roasted garlic in the plate, mind you!!). But I think the best food of the evening was the satay prawns. They were absolutely delicious and for the price, they provided good quantity. The beer was very good, ambience great... they even have a foosball table upstairs, which was a lot of fun especially after a couple of drinks. I don't think they have a huge variety of cocktails, I ordered a mojito, which they didn't have, but the waiter came up with good recommendations for other cocktails.

Overall, I have given it 4 stars, because the decor leaves a lot to be desired, but it is by far one of the best pub experiences I have had in a while.

Amazing Food. The absolute best food I've ever had in a pub. Inside, it's quaint, has nice dim lighting, cozy tables, and a friendly staff to grett you. Great beer, from a variety of different places, and a nice selection of wine. I had a salad and tomato soup and it was incredible. Great place for a date or a group of friends. More seating upstairs.

Yummy and Easy. This place is great for an easy-going dinner at pretty cheap prices. It's not your regular pub food, there's not a fried item anywhere on the menu. The tacos (shrimp and pork) are to die for and the burgers served on Ciabatta buns are delicious. I've never had to wait for seating and the small patio on the street is great for late summer evenings. They have live music on Mondays and are always changing the beers on draft for the beer connoisseurs out there. Finding street parking doesn't seem to be a problem either.

Great neighborhood pub. Since I live nearby, I drop by on a semi-regular basis. Though the tomato-basil soup is a little too tangy for my taste (and seems to be the soup du jour every time I go there), I can't say I've ever had a bad meal there. Great sandwiches/burgers/salads. Oh, and they have beer! It always seems to have enough patrons for a lively atmosphere without having to wait for a table.

A dive-turned-neighborhood hangout for a friendly, nonsmoking, beer-loving crowd.. The Scene
Walls are painted in pastel shades, marble-topped tables are crammed elbow-to-elbow in the main room, and the bar sprouts clusters of three and four taps. Add a piano in the back, large windows and a dog-friendly policy and you've got the modern neighborhood alehouse.

The Draw
The Latona is a perfect nonsmoking rest area. As for drinks, all 13 of the clustered taps pour only Pacific Northwest brews. The beer selection constantly evolves; you can read about the latest offerings on the blackboard high above the bar. A varied selection of wine, by the bottle or the glass, is also available.

Just sorta okay. This place has decent beer and food. It's in a good location, too. The service and selection can be a bit sketchy, though. Still, I'd recommend it.

Rediscovering an old favorite. I recently revisited this old haunt of mine from the days when I lived in the greenlake area...it's one of those places you hope will never change. When I walked through the door I could see the changes immediately: new paint job, new bar, new MENU!! I had never really cared to dine there before, it was always a place I could meet a friend before we went somewhere else, but after tasting the divinity of their burger, BLT, and something called chicken kabuli, it IS the place I take my friends... the staff always seem friendly and eager to please...Boy am I glad that I was thirsty in greenlake and was able to rediscover an improved old favorite!
