I love Thai Siam!!

Contributor

Ive moved into the Crowne Hill neighbor for about seven years. When I first moved here, Thai siam was just Down the street from my house, so I decided to give it a try. I'm so happy that I tried it!! Everything there is so fresh, staff are super friendly and inviting. I've never had a bad experience here! If u go to Thai Siam be sure to try the chicken delight( chicken and cashews stir fry) undersea( red curry with seafood) and their autumn dish. I always bring everyone that I know here. Some nights I even find my neighbors!! LOL

Can Shake the Feeling or Experience ...

by Wellness6

Let me preface and say that I rarely speak up when served a meal that is not to my liking and just think to myself that I will just not order that next time,There will be no next time at Thai Siam.We ordered the spring rolls and fried rolls, which were ok, and were pleasantly surprised at how fast they came out. With 2little ones with us, that is always helpful but that was probably the only thing that I can say positive about my expereince there. Our order came ChickenFried Rice, not much chicken or flavor in rice, and 2Chicken Phad Thai.Having had a long week of work, I was very excited to enjoy this. Not only were the noodles a flourescent orange but it had a very funny flavor. My boyfriend and I were trying to figure out what it reminded us andI figured it out once we left the resturant,The taste had a Dog Food flavor. Not that I eat dog food but the scent you get when you open up a bag of dogfood was that of the Phad Thai there.SoI mention it to the waiter, who then sends another waiter over who then tells me he will talk to the manager and figure out what to do.I was confused,First of all it is never easy to bring something like this up and I was extremely respectful of delicatley bringing this up to him so as not to say it too loud so other can hear. The best part is that he comes back with out saying anything, throws the bill on the table and then keeps the charges of the 2Phad Thai on the bill.So now I have to round up my girls who now have to witness me talking about this delicate subject once again at the front &now there are people everywhere who are waiting to be seated who will hear the conversation. Can we say, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.Customer Service 101, Never try to humiliate your customers because in the end you make a fool of yourself. As I go up In front of 12others to tell them to kindly take the charges off he rudely tells me that in 21 years no has ever complained of the Phad Thai.WOW!! Left thinking, I would never want anyone to go through what I did.

Pathetic. Don't eat here.

by GSkid

My girlfriend and I ordered two dishes and an appetizer for takeout from Thai Siam. Having never eaten here before we gave it a shot. I am incredibly disappointed, hence the need to rate and review the place. Princess Rice, Thai Siam curry, and the fresh rolls are what we ordered. All of these are sad examples of what Thai cuisine can be.

The fresh rolls aren't even worth mentioning, and the peanut sauce tasted like Skippy. The rice dish was obviously made with canned vegetables and was poorly seasoned- it tasted like oily ketchup on half-cooked rice and microwaved frozen vegetables. The curry was much like the Princess rice in that the ingredients are simply garbage. As for the curry, it was thicker than thick and coconut milk was the only prevalent flavor beside the spices. My girlfriend likes a mild-spiced dish, and although I prefer my food rather hot, the 2 star that we ordered was more like a 4 star.

Apparently, the people in the kitchen simply don't have any regard for their customers. If they eat this food at home, I would be completely dumbfounded. It seems that they think they can serve sub-par food to an unknowing customer base simply because they have next to no competition in this neighborhood. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

The best fresh spring rolls and peanut sauce in the city!

by sietelobos

My family and I love Thai food and have been eating here for years. The chef/owner makes the best peanut sauce I have ever tasted, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. They offer consistently delciious and mouth watering Thai food, and offer back a portion of their proceeds each year to local charities. Try Thai Siam, they are wonderful!

  • Pros: food, wait staff, chefs, ambience
  • Cons: none

Very good Thai food for a reasonable price

by aaronbronow

I live in the Greenwood area and I believe this is the best choice for Thai nearby.

It doesn't look very classy on the outside but the atmosphere is comfortable. Phad Thai tastes like it's made with ketchup so avoid that if you're a more traditional Thai fan. The Tom Ka soup is good. The seafood is fresh. I recommend the Kee Mao and the fried rice.

  • Pros: Easy to get to, Good parking
  • Cons: Phad Thai, small seating area

Delicious Peanut Sauce!

by stephy2159

My sister and I were about to leave for our standby Thai Restaurant when our neighbor suggested Thai Siam telling us that it is the best Thai he has ever had. We went to Thai Siam on 15th and havnt been to our standby since! The service is phenomenal as is the food and it is very authentic and not Americanized like some of the more swanky Thai restuarants. They cook their tofu to perfection and the peanut sauce is good enough to eat on its own! I recomend the Phad Thai and the Rama Garden and honestly I doubt that anything on the menu is less then amazing. They also put on a benefit dinner each year for different organizations and last year raised over $19,000 which is outstanding.

  • Pros: Great Service, Parking Lot, DELICIOUS!
  • Cons: ummmm none actualy

Always Great!

by megknight

We go here at least once every two weeks. We are Thai junkies and kept looking around until we found our spot. This is IT. Everything is done well...the service is always good. The only thing odd is that you have to ask for rice with any of the curries...but it is a small price to pay.

  • Pros: Taste, Variety, Service

Fantastic Thai

by magnoliavillage

My wife and I have been here many times over the years and we've yet to have a bad experience.

The food is always great - fresh, hot, and delicious; the service is always attentive, but not overbearing. While the restaurant isn't overly fancy, it doesn't detract from the dining experience. There are enough Thai-themed art and artifacts to keep the views interesting.

As one reviewer previously noted, they have a benefit dinner each year where all the procceds are donated to various charities. It's nice to see a business give back to the community and it makes you wonder why all businesses don't do the same.

The dining area is not large and isn't really configured to entertain large parties at a single table, but this is definitely a "don't miss" Thai dining experience.

  • Pros: great food, great service, gives to community
