Friendly, fun place

I had read several reviews online about the Sixth Avenue Inn and was a little worried when I made my reservation. When I arrived I was greated by the sweetest lady at the Front Desk, she helped me plan my activities and transportation. I stayed there for three nights and she greeted me everytime I walked in the hotel and remembered where I had gone and even asked about it! The same was true in the restaurant and bar. The bartendars aer funny and a little rough, but it works here. The location was great, walking distance to everything. The rooms are basic but they just got new beds so I slept really well. The girl at the desk said they were going to renovate this year. I am still preplexed as to why this hotel got such bad reviews. I think it is one of those situations where people who write bad reviews expect Westin quality for under $100.00, in other words they are dreaming! I will stay here again when I come to Seattle. Love this little Inn.
- Pros: Service was terrific
- Cons: Furniture is a little dated, but they say they are updating soon
Good, basic budget accommodations in the heart of downtown Seattle.

The Scene
This hotel is a step above the standard budget chain--and a few steps below the Seattle Westin across the street, even though the Starwood company owns them both. This is the kind of place to stay when money is an object, location is important and all you really need is a clean, safe place to hang your hat.
The Details
The first thing to keep in mind is that the awning-covered walkway off the street leads to the restaurant, not the lobby. The lobby is located on the floor below next to the driveway. The guest rooms are somewhat plain, but they are light and decent in size, considering the price. Accommodations have all the amenities you'd expect, including alarm clock radios and cable TV.
Great Rates and a Great Location

This has to be the friendlist hotel I have ever stayed in. This is a budget hotel with lots of heart. I found the rooms clean, comfortable and definately affordable. The service was terrific, as was the food in the restaurant. I will stay here again for business or pleasure.

Very pleased with room and service

The location of this hotel is great, the room clean and service was wonderful. The waiter in the Restaurant was quick and witty and the food was excellent. If there is a negative comment, it would be regarding the parking.....on the website it said parking was free, but we paid 8.00 per night. All in all however, it is a hotel we would not hesitate to recommend and stay at ourselves again. If the previous "contributors" had a problem with the Sixth Avenue Inn, why didn't they book into the Hilton instead ?
Budget-Minded

This is a very BASIC hotel. The location is great, but the amenities are not. If you are a woman traveling solo, find some extra $ and upgrade. I did have a bathtub, in my room. I noticed a tray in the hall way from Saturday afternoon until Sunday afternoon. That didn't seem very sanitary. The desk clerks were quite friendly.
- Pros: location
- Cons: room size, amenities
