Poor tailoring
by blues11
Had my expensive pants tailored here. Did an exceptionally poor job. They messed it up once...made one leg shorter than the other, then when I brought the pants back, they screwed up again. The problem is the person doing the measuring is not necessarily the person doing the alterations. Had to go through a total of 3 revisions before they got it right. This lack of attention to detail, a crucial aspect of tailoring, prevents me from recommending this place for alterations. They have nice clothes, but just don't bring your clothes here to get altered in any way, shape, or form.
- Pros: Nice central location. Stylish selection of clothing.
- Cons: Terrible tailor. Poor customer service.
One of Belltown's best shopping spots plus, great tailoring!

You couldn't ask for a more electic mix of sharp European and US menswear (Nicole Farhi sweaters and sharp Merc merchandise), all curated by the eye of Scott Kuhlman. Helpful staff and an excellent tailoring service. I had a fabulous tartan suit made to measure and will treasure it for years!
Very Disappointed

Bought a pair of jeans. First, they put a really funky cuff on the bottoms when I had them hemmed and it had a huge flap of denim on each leg that always hung down and looked bad. They did re-hem them for me, but then two of the buttons fell off the fly. Quality sub-par at best.

The Scene
The name sounds like "Cool Man," and it fits. With its exposed brick walls, worn fir floors and French Afro-tech rap on the speakers, this selectively stocked men's and women's clothing boutique radiates one-of-a-kind hipness, appealing to young urban nomads seeking their own exclusive, anti-corporate look. Scott Kuhlman's customers are from all over the world, to browse and buy his hard-to-find brands.
The Goods
Don't come here looking for khakis. But there are jeans, in unusual cuts and finishes, and 1970s style Fred Perry sportswear tees. Among the eclectic pieces on the front racks are brands you can only find here, such as Ralf Handschuch from Berlin, or Tulula and Alice Roi from New York. The real attraction, though, is Kuhlman's needle. He uses it to create a stylish fit or make custom clothes from his distinctive array of fabrics and leather on view in the back.
