Great gym all around!
by bafox
The outside of the Seattle Athletic Club is deceiving in that facility is more extensive then it looks. The layout is spacious allowing for baskeball and squash courts, a pool, a cafe, steam rooms/saunas, and several areas for weights. The decor is nice and clean without being overly fancy. The sales staff is the best that I encountered on my search for a new gym. They are responsive and detailed, customizing the information that they provide to their potential members needs. They do not result to high pressure selling. Having used the gym twice on guest passes, the positive experience with the sales staff sets the tone for the rest of the team. The front desk is quick with a "good morning" and offered to show me around to make sure I remember where to find everything.
- Pros: Knowledgeable and friendly staff, amenities, free parking
Good Club, Terrible Parking
by peter_jun
First I wanted to say that I enjoy going to this club. The staff is great and the equipment they have are nice as well.
What I don't recommend this club: Parking, Parking, Parking. Their parking validations are from 5:30 am- 9:30am and 3:00 pm - 10:30 pm. They have a 3 hour limit as well. I find it kind of ridiculous for a health club to put a time limit, the whole point of a gym is to stay long as you can and exercise right? But no, you have to worry if it has been 3 hours yet. Also another point to make out is that you have to pay 12 dollars if you don't get there before 3 pm.
But again if you're talking about the gym itself its great. Although if you're a basketball player you might be a little disappointed with their basketball court. It's kinda small and there are lot of dead spots around it lol. But hey, its in Downtown - where else can you find a basketball court in downtown Seattle (maybe besides the YMCA).
The place is great if you live in Downtown but there can be lot of traffic since its right by the Pike Place market. There are lot of bums around the area too...
- Pros: Good equipment, nice staff, great pool
- Cons: Parking, have to pay $$$ for seperate classes
great club "BUT"

I really enjoy going to S.A.C, BUT I pay 75$ a month and my downtown membership does not work @ the northgate location with out having to pay an extra charge each time I go there???? Why? I'm not sure. When I was going to Golds gym I could go to all Golds gym, I understand surrporting local business, One of the reason's why I change Gym's. I cant help but think I should be able to use both gyms for the price of one membership.
- Pros: Great club
- Cons: extra fees between two clubs?
Not just another sports club, this gym is a social outlet, too.

The Scene
Members meet in film clubs, book clubs and sports clubs. They take dance lessons and group trips. They have club parties. And when they find time to work out, they do it here in luxury.
The Workout
This 60,000-square-foot facility has it all: ample cardio- and weight-training equipment; aquatics classes; swim lessons; plenty of free-swim time; and more than 20 kinds of group exercise classes, including all the latest fads. As might be expected, you pay for this luxury and variety, from a hefty initiation fee to monthly dues two to three times more than most area clubs.
Seattle Athletic Club Rocks

From the time I walk in the door until the time I leave, the Seattle Athletic Club staff is friendly and helpful. Their trainers are the most knowledgable in the city and don't hesitate to help you with a spot in the free weight room. The aerobics classes are lots of fun. If you haven't taken Everett's cycling class, you're missing out on the best music around.
I don't play squash or basketball but I know they've got world class squash players running that program too. So if you want the best, Seattle Athletic Club is it!
- Pros: Professional Staff, Cleanest Facilities, Great Classes
SAC is Super!
by mstrader
I have belonged to The Seattle Athletic Club for 8 years now and love it. The club has everything you could want in a health club and it is all included, not to mention the great social activites. The staff at the club are friendly and really know what they are doing. Many of my friends have come as guests and ended up joining. It's the best club in Seattle.
- Pros: good availability on, clean, good value
