I just do not get it

by richard98101

I like the location but everything else is below par. The sandwiches are like the "Honey Hole" (dry, uneventful, over priced) and the beer is not so good.............

The price for beer and their food is too high.............I just do not get it; why people rave and rave about this place. Oh well, next they will put hanging ferns in the window and then I will get it.

  • Pros: Nice place but stinks of smoke
  • Cons: Lousy parking

Great Food, Lame Server

by SeaGal20

I have gone here for lunch a few times and thought the food was excellent! Plus the decor is awesome...fits in well with the area. I really liked the tofu burrito and there was so much I couldn't even eat it all! The service was mediocre, and I had the same server both times. He was unenthusiastic and clearly didn't want to be there. I'm not going to judge a place on one server who's having a bad day, so yes! I definitely recommend Six Arms!

  • Pros: Great food and price
  • Cons: lame service

OK food, AWFUL STAFF

by jac011

I had the worst experience here. The service was terrible and rude. Our party of 6 waited 25 minutes for our drinks. The server approached the table and called my friend "very rude" with no cause. At that point I went to speak with the manager, who was also the barternder?? Not a good plan.... She was no help at all and put her hand in my face and said "let me talk." Very strange and terrible experience. They really need to clean house with their staff and start again!

  • Pros: Its in the city
  • Cons: terrible service and food

sad but true

by loxieegan

Cool decor but sadly the service was terrible. We stood around waiting fore someone to say something or kinda direct us but no...we ended seating ourselves. Bad service, bad food.......GREAT beer.

  • Pros: ambience

if you care about service -- skip this place

by member1797

looked cool, service sucked. It should just open at night like most other bars and forget trying to be a restaurant, the food was lame anyway. My husband and I were ignored repeatedly by our waitress, I know a girl needs to have a smoke, flirt with boys at the bar even have a seat a table with a friend now and again but she was doing all of this instead of waiting on us the whoe time we were there. So far as a visitor we've had no good service at any of the places we've been so we had no expectations but this was the worst. And we're not an uptight JCREW wearing couple.

Great food, too smoky, lots of attitude

by pgcarlson

As a McMennamin's pub, you can expect great food and beer. The location is excellent, and there's really nowhere else nearby to get a burger and beer. The place has long been way, too smoky though, and it still stinks even after the ban. And while sometimes service has been great, most of the time you get that tattooed-capitol-hill-young-cooler-than-thou attitude that's really annoying.

  • Pros: fries, beer, burger
  • Cons: Service, smoky-stink, no parking

disappointed

by foodeater98122

not up to McMenamins usual standards: the cheeseburger was overdone and dry, service apathetic and slow.

the booths are interesting and look comfortable, but we don't know, since we couldn't get one.

But, as usual, the beer was good.

  • Pros: beer, location
  • Cons: slow service, crowded

hey eastsiders - stay away

by suicideagenda

i dont get why people (probably eastsiders on weekends) don't think this place is awesome. i'm sorry, this isn't PF-changs - that you eastside borings are used to... this is caphill and we're laidback here... if you don't like this restaurant, go eat at california pizza kitchen. you'd be doing me a favour - cuz i dont wanna stare at your cheap jcrew clothing all night anyways.

definetly would not recommend

by hill112

went w/a group of about 10...and never have me and my friends been treated so RUDLEY. the waitress IGNORED us so we found our own seats, went to the bar to get a few drinks the bartender RUDLEY IGNORED us obviously to us he really didn't want to serve us and told us to go sit down @ a table and he'll get our order. as soon as he gets our order offends a couple of my friends @ that point we had enough and got up and left. heard good things about this place...to my DISAPPOINTMENT i've been served better @ gas stations than this place. I RECOMMEND NOT GOING.
