Special Thai Chicken

by KnoxBNYC

I've been going to this restaurant for about 20 years. It's always the same. I've gotten SEVERAL friends hooked on it as well.

I brought a Louisiana friend here a few months ago who was visiting Seattle. He "hates" Thai curry. I pushed him to try "Special Thai Chicken" at this place. It has both yellow and green curries along with coconut milk, bell pepper and other stuff. He embarrassed the table with how loudly he was moaning about how good it was. We all laughed at him, and he still talks about that dish all the time.

The chicken satay is the best I've had. (Though it was a tad better when they used to serve with with little triangles of toast.)

The "Coconut Chicken" is also to die for! Wonderful flavors.

Although I no longer live in the Seattle area, I go back frequently and ALWAYS go to this place at least twice a week when there. :) Yum yum yum!

  • Pros: Oh. My. Gawd. Amazing!
  • Cons: Parking is not great.

Thai City

by rheinerhoff

Ayutthaya is a delicious Thai feast for the asian food enthusiast. We all enjoy the Beef Panang, Special Green Curries and the delictable shellfish entrees. Singha is on the house every third thursday. Friendly, dilligent service - I've never felt rushed at all contrary to other users. In fact, the hostesses often enjoy chatting after the meal, sharing their knowledge of Thailand and Thai Cuisine. Treat yourself to a SE Asian Smorgus Board of delight at Ayutthaya.

Great food, Great service

by mirang

I've been eating here for years. I've always expierienced the best service, food, and prices. Their side walk fish is fabulous! They even take it out on the side walk for the finishing touches, it's fun to watch. Their Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, assorted curries, and appetizers, are all very good. What really sticks out here, is their friendly, attentive service. I can't think of a better place. They have the whole package: Great food, attentive staff, and phenominal prices.

  • Pros: Great Food, Spectacular Service, Inexpensive Cost

Far from best

by gfrancisco

A decent list of wine by the glass - though they were out of the J. Lohr Syrah and stated they were changing the list. Pad Thai was good, but the three other dishes were so so - they ran the gamut of seafood, beef and chicken dishes. Meat was overcooked in all but the seafood plates. Lots of servers but they all ignore you unless you're calling them to the table. Why bother? There are lots of family run Thai restuarants in the area that have better food and better service.

  • Pros: Pad Thai, Wine list

Great food, great people

by littlevivi

The food is delicious and the people are really nice! The dishes are a little different compared to some other Thai restaurants because there is no yellow curry and some other dishes that I like. However the Special Ayutthaya noodles are very good (flat rice noodles, chicken, and vegetables) and their pineapple fried rice is delicious! I also enjoy their vegetable soup (there is fried garlic that tops it that gives the flavor an extra punch!). Also their BBQ chicken is heavenly, plus it comes with cabbage too and the sauces are great on top!

The food can be very mild, for people like me who like the flavors, but can't handle things too spicy. But they also make a lot of spicy foods as well that look really tastey.

The atmosphere is really great expecially with a Thai Iced Coffee on hand! The prices are really low too!

  • Pros: Very Yummy, Good Service, Relaxing
  • Cons: , Small tables, Few dessert choices

LET ME SIT AND ENJOY!

by srad2

Yes, the food is good but my quibble is with the hovering wait staff who can't seem to wait to have you out of there. My food comes before I'm done with my soup, the bill is there right after the food. No lingering allowed apparently. Also, what's with thai restaurants piping in bad 80's soft pop. I've noticed it all over town. I suggest takout!!

  • Pros: tasty, good lunch deals
  • Cons: , limited lunch hours, BAD MUSIC

Thai It. You'll never look back

by carajoyc

I would suggest starting with the ka bong! appetizer. This deep fried yellow squash and corn appetizer is seasoned just right and kind of like a healthy batch of fries. Delish! Then I always order the green curry chicken super spicy accompianed with the thai iced tea to calm down the burning mouth. Best thai restaurant on the hill by far!

It's all I eat

by chupacabra

I eat dinner here almost every night, it seems, and I never get tired of it. The drunken noodles are great, I'll agree, but so are the panang and kangdang tofus. The black rice pudding is also extraordinary. Furthermore, I appreciate Ayutthaya's proximity to my apartment; I understand, though, that this won't make a difference to anyone else. My only real complaint is the complimentary mints that come with the check; they're a little carnuba wax-y for my taste.
