SPLIT SOMETHING

by alisonkramer

These burritos are HUGE. Honestly, the size of my mid torso. They generally serve then "wet" - which is good, but makes them exceptionally rich. We came here before prom, and it was awesome. Fun, boisterous vibe with great Mexican and good service.

Bitchin' indeed!

by honorrosie

While on a cross country burrito tour I ate A LOT of bean burritos. (Beans and a car trip, lethal?Perhaps...) I HIGHLY recommend Bimbos Bitchin' Burrito Kitchen. The burritos were huge (could probably get two meals out of them) and very tasty!

The bratty attitude may be a bit shocking, but the food is tasty at this techno-taqueria.

The Scene
The Mardi Gras-on-acid decor (loud music, glitter, Day-Glo and kitsch) seems an appropriate setting fort the hipster Capitol Hill clientele. During the day, the crowd is a mix of wayward youth, curious students and the occasional employee on break. At night, the Cha Cha Lounge next-door comes alive with some seriously loud music--and equally loud drinkers looking for solid food.

The Food
The menu is a fairly standard--burritos, tacos, quesadillas--with a few quirks thrown in for good measure. To put a new spin on the traditional, try a dollop of the pungent, cumin-lime sour cream. The fresh guacamole complements rather than dominates. Bimbo's joins a small group of places offering a fresh, homemade sour blend for its margaritas. This difference is evident in the house margarita with Patron tequila--a fragrant, fruity concoction with a seductive, extended finish.

just ok

by ngscls

cute interior draws you in, but the food is too bland... i added salt to my burrito! when does that happen? maybe the nachos are good. but if you want an even cuter environment with awesome food, go to mama's downtown. the healthy side of the menu is a draw, and it's location is good, but mexican food should be way way more flavorful.

  • Pros: location, decor, simple, creative menu
  • Cons: bland, bland, bland

Worst Mexican food I've ever had!

by hwambam

Being from the Bay Area, I've had truly "bitchin'" Mexican food--and Bimbo's has to be the complete antithesis. Totally Americanized and bland--from the tasteless white rice to the garlic rotisserie chicken burrito (blasphemy)!! I really wanted to like it, too, with the kitschy decor and great ambience...but the food was absolutely terrible. I think the only safe bet would be a quesadilla, and only at 2am, and only if you're really, really wasted.

  • Pros: Decor
  • Cons: Everything else

Chicken Nachos

by foodieg

Get the chicken nachos. Cheap, delicious, and enough for two. Rest of the menu is so so.

  • Pros: chicken nachos, location

Great place for late food

by rajgom

We hit this place late on a sat night and were surpirsed that we had a 20 min wait.. And we were not dissapointed. The ambience was really cool and burritos were great. A simple menu and good margaritas. Great place for a late eat. Its right next to the Cha-Cha lounge (they even share a door!) which makes it evern better.

  • Pros: ambience, late night,
  • Cons: the wait ?

Don't Bother

by angelaray713

I had high hopes for this place, but was disappointed from the moment I stepped in the door. Yes, the decor is very cool, but the food was awful! And the service was even worse than the food. While I can appreciate Bimbo's willingness to employ the "young tattooed youth" of Capitol Hill, they perhaps should teach them some manners to boot. Never have I been treated so poorly in a restaurant! As for the food, I wouldn't call it Mexican food. The burritos was huge, as is the non Mexican way, but the beans and rice were so dry and the salsas were weak to say the least. The wait staff was much to busy posing and snarling to see if there was anything else I wanted. That was over three years ago and I have never returned. Don't bother with thes place.

  • Pros: Its cheap, Decor is fabulous
  • Cons: Rude staff, Awfule food, Awful food

Perfect for Seattle but...

by jadesblue

I'm sorry but bimbos bitchin' burrito kitchen is HIGHLY overrated. I'm sorry to say this but comparing this joint to authentic mexican food is far from. Ok, so it is VERY Seattlelike but not very mexican like. The rice and beans are dry... but the burritos aren't half bad. The decor is fab but honestly, I'd go somewhere else if I wanted REAL mexican food.

  • Pros: cheap, fast service, convenient location
  • Cons: , not so great food, no parking

Not that great

by juju81

I was not really impressed by the food there at all. It was not very flavorful and the service was not really poor or good. Just blah.

  • Pros: dark lighting
