I really enjoy this place, but there are a couple of guys working there which have been acting in a prepotent way now its been two times.. that is really bad for such a great place... and if you ask who this is...just go there and look for the "doorguy"
Pros: the place...location
Cons: employees attitude

I once was a regular at the Comet and my best memory was when I bought somethig from a new bartener named Jason He didn't bring me the correct change and I told him the fact and he didn't agree. I said that I wouldn't bicker and ask him to ask the owner to check the books at the end of the day. Next time I was in he was tending bar and produced the correct change and I thank him. I hadn't seen him in quite some time and stop drinking and stoped going to the bars. Working swing shift I would tune into the late night show and to my amazement he was playing the drums.Hey I havn't tied one on in over twenty years and Damn I'm proud of myself. I'm sure you are too . Thanks for not giving me the treatment. The girls are beautiful and I miss all of you . Thanks for the memories. I did this over and realized "No good Grammer no good speller" sorry. To the pretty blond I'm sorry I thought you were calling me a snibling nut. It was pionted out to me what you really said. Damn I'm fool.

So naturally bad-ass, you want to cry. Beer tastes better here. Bling falls off like old skin. Music blares you king. And conversations don't even need words...

The Comet is a venue without pretense. There's a bar with some beer taps, a few chairs, some pool tables, and a stage. The crowd is very diverse depending on who's playing - you're likely to see Enimem wannabees moshing with glammed up transsexuals. Is that a bad thing? That depends on your personality. Are you the type of person that craves attention and likes to stand out? It will take a LOT at the Comet to stand out from the crowd, so be warned. Great service, great place to watch people, and if you love the local music scene this is the place to see some awesome, awesome bands in their infancy.
Pros: Great music
Cons: It is a dive bar so it smells bad in there

The bartenders are the best anywhere! Put that with a great beer selection, Wednesday Night Karaoke, and the coolest crowd to ever assemble in one place and you get the Comet!
Pros: The Crowd, The Bartenders, Value
Cons: None

I live in Kansas City now, but have lived in Seattle a couple of times, in the early 90's and most recently for a year 2000-2001. The Comet was by far my favorite bar on my first stay, and even more so on my second. I just recently went back to Seattle for a visit, and most of my nights ended up at my old favorite haunt. It hasn't changed a bit (except they occasionally have live music now). Good mixed crowd of people, all about the beer, and that dreamy Mike Roney (sp?) behind the bar brought me back to 1990 and watching Friday play pool.

The Comet is the personification of the phrase "Dive bar", that being said it is one of my favorite places to drink at in Seattle. I've always had good service from the bar staff, true it is dirty but if you want luxurious carpets, expensive wine and romantic lighting than the Comet is not your place. If you're looking for a rock n roll type dive bar than try the Comet, you'll like it.

This is NOT a place to go alone or to celebrate your 21st. Snobby service and clique-ish crowd. Don't go if you don't know the "in-crowd". You will be more than likely ignored by the bartender.
Pros: Cheap, Close-by, Laid-back
Cons: Clique-ish, Snobby, Dirty

When you've flown nearly 6000 miles, the last thing your thirsty traveller needs is a pretentious drinking den populated by plastic people drinking extravagantly named alcopops. Fortunately, The Comet provides the remedy for this with its refreshingly convivial environment which is a great hang-out for a beer at any time, with friendly staff and customers providing a relaxed and informal atmosphere. It's also a great place to practice the fine art of pool. In fact, I'd say half the people I visit in Seattle I originally met in The Comet! Very reminiscent of my local at home - The Old Market Inn in Kettering, England. I arrive in your fair city on July 23rd 2002. Mine's a Hales!
Pros: hassle free, fun, genuine
Cons: on a big hill
