"open" to members only!

by kiiyaani

Capitol Hill's one and only lesbian bar is open to all. Thats about it "open" !! my experience at this one and only lesbian bar was a disappointment, it is definitely a clique lesbian bar, if you're not in the "A" list, you're ignored by the "members". i'll go to another gay/lesbian bar any night!! besides i'm a budweiser gurl... what is this Select budweiser???

  • Pros: ?
  • Cons: clique chicks

Just a plain dirty bar

by richard98101

Story time: Years ago my son and his friend went to the wild rose and were treated like second class citizens. Afterwards, I went there for a beer and to see what they were complaining about. I wanted to get sick. Real dirty place and prejudice as all get out. Women who hate men. I am a man and I don't hate women. I like them. There neat! The ladies should not hate people because they are different. Me? I have never met a lady that I did not like.

  • Pros: Great area and a great experience
  • Cons: Not so good in the parking area

wheres the service, just an over hyped tavern

by vamppyvixon

it is like awalking into a seedy tavern on skid road. it smells, the furniture is old, and as far as trendy or chic, you would think it was a mens leather hook up bar rather than the only lesbian bar in town. the place is packed every weekend, but the owners dont spend any money to make it nice for the girls. I have to admit if you get used to the bad service and the ugly tavern like feel, and really get to know the people who go there, because it is the only lesbian bar, you will actually have some fun, but as far as a review for the bar itself, the bathroom is so small a toddler would feel cramped in the stalls, you cant even find the tiny lil sink to wash your hands, and the locks have been broken on the stalls for years! If your a femme, put your makeup on at home, and dont plan on getting to the mirror all night without being beat up by the door! If your a regular dont expect to have them treat you like family, in fact the longer you go there and spend your money the less service you will get over time, youll be lucky to actually get a drink on a Saturday night............ but like I said, because it is the only lesbian bar,,,,,,,,,, and if your single ,,,,,,,,,, it is the place to be!

  • Pros: the only lesbian bar in town
  • Cons: all of the above

Lame

by marshamonkey

Came up from Portland to visit a friend. This bar was pretty lame. The service was the only thing that was great about this bar. The music was lame for a Saturday night. There were no shows. The bar was practically empty. Really, I wasn't impressed to be honest. I was hoping Seattle might have more to offer than Portland, but the answer was a big fat - NOPE!!!

  • Pros: Lesbian Bar
  • Cons: Atmosphere Sucked

Go for the cute girls, stay for the food

by Rubysgoddess

Yes the Wild Rose has many cute women, but did you know the WR has some of the best pub grub in Seattle? The Four Cheese Hero is to die for. They have rotating homemade soups, plus great drink specials.

Don't go here (if you're a guy)

by aleksandr111

I?ve been here a couple times (with lesbian friends) and in my experience some of the women that go here are not welcoming to guys. Contrast this with a gay bar (welcoming to everyone) and you?ll understand what I mean. It?s probably a pretty decent spot if you?re a woman, but for guys, be prepared ? people will be rude to you. I?d suggest going somewhere else.

  • Pros: Great specials some nights
  • Cons: Not a very friendly bar

where is the dj?

by samigurl

The best things about the Rose is that it is where I met the love of my life, and the bartenders are great.

I just looked at the calendar for March 07 and there is only one DJ night. Hey, we girls want to dance and have fun with our special girl or meet our special girl, whatever the case may be.

My girl and I were going to Traxx in Kent because every Friday and Saturday or special ocassion there was a DJ and dancing. A couple of weeks ago my love and I went to the Rose on a Friday night because I guess Traxx is out of buisness, so we drove to the Rose with a friend and the entertainment was a few girls playing pool and a tacky juke box. No one talks to anyone unless they know each other from some where else. We were always treated kindly at Traxx and I miss it already.

The Rose has so much potential and could be a blast and a very cool place to hang out, but I guess we will be going to the guys bars to dance and have a good time.

If you want help ask us gurls(girls) we would love to make suggestions, put out a questionaire on a dead Friday or Saturday night.

First suggestions: Get a DJ for every Friday and Saturday night, you can't go wrong and update, update.

  • Pros: There are girls there
  • Cons: they won't talk to you and there is no entertainment

Think outside the Box

by trixitrixitrixi

The Wild Rose could use a total make-over and a trip into the 21st century! There are so many beautiful women and such phenominal music our there today that they should tap into to it to create an environment that thrives on the beauty of women of all age groups. The crowd tends to be very young and clickish and the music rings out of that dreadful jukebox. Change is great and it brings great success! Mellow, mellow, mellow, who wants mellow besides some drab women! We want fun and fun women and an exciting evironment that we talk to our friends about throughout the country. L's travel to find this kind of fun such as Palm Springs! We need that kind of environment in our neck of the woods! It's an ok place, but could be better. Think outside the box girls! If you create it . . . they will come!

  • Pros: It the only Women's Bar
  • Cons: The atmosphere is Old School

I am not lesbian but I decided to have a few beers and a meal at the Wild Rose with a friend. I was very impressed with the relaxed atmosphere as well as the fantastic service. Great food, too.

I am definitely going back.

  • Pros: Friendly, Mellow and relaxed
  • Cons: Capitol Hill parking
