Went to Capitol Club the last time my buddy from San Diego was in town. I was extremely apprehensive, as I had heard some not-so-stellar things about it third-hand from someone else (obviously from my rating, a stale review), but thought what the hell since I had passed by it the week before and it appeared to be full of some damn happy looking folks. For good reason, it seems. We only went for happy (2) hours, but the food was really fantastic (and very reasonably--happy hour at least--priced). Specifically, if you like calimari, they serve the fattest, lightly breaded (i hate when it's overwhelmed by breading and grease) fried calimari that really let the natural taste come out. The other food that I nibbled on tasted great even though it was a bit unfamiliar (which was actually fun to try new stuff) and the beers / booze pretty damn cheap, especially considering the fact that the service was probably some of the best I've had. The guy waiting on us was really friendly from the outset, but somehow we discovered he was co-owner, and he told us all about their various specials. Apparently there are live music and performances too. The only negative thing I would have to report is that this joint is that I suspect it is about to get very popular in a hurry, since people tend to find out about such a great score pretty fast. This is probably one of those types of joints that's too good to last, but hopefully they'll be rewarded for doing it right.

Its been a while since I had been to the Capitol Club and I was not expecting much to tell the truth. Last time I went there (6 months ago) the food was awful and the service was below average. But now I have to say Im glad my friend talked me into going there. They have a new menu and its SO YUMMY!! Its all Spanish food which I wasnt very familiar with but it was fantastic!! Also they have these new yummy drinks...I had a few with Tequila and Guava juice. Mmmm! Not to mention the cute waitress that waited on us was the sweetest thing ever! She even bought my friend dessert for her birthday! To sum it up if you havent been here in a while you are missing out! Definitely has changed for the better!
Pros: Drinks, Food and Service
Cons: The rain! I wanted to eat out on the deck!

On the 3rd Tuesday of every month, we gather at The Capitol Club for a conversation about sexuality. The service is always excellent. Our group can be challenging, as we never know how many will show up and when. The food is consistently tantilizing. Their wagyu beef burger is premium and a favorite of many of our group. If you are looking for a casual meeting place for your group, with very reasonable food prices and excellent staff, this is the place!

Great ambiance- the Moroccan flair is right up my alley. But the decor did not make up for the rest of the place. The food was bad and the place was freezing cold- ever thought to turn on a heater in January? And the Capitol Club is under new ownership or so and didn't have a liquor license- so, no drinks. We left after our less than appetizing dinner to head down the street to the Chapel to quench our thirst. It really is too bad as the place is so cute.
Pros: Decor
Cons: Food, no liquor, no heat

For some reason I always forget about The Capitol Club until I get invited to a birthday or special event here. The food, drink, and entertainment are superb. The food especially, it's really quite amazing for such moderately priced dishes. I always leave thinking "why don't I come here more often?" and for some reason I still can't figure out what it is about this place that makes me for get it so easily, when really it's a great spot. hmmm...

This is a good date spot, unique food, comfortable seating arrangements, and entertaining surroundings. The food was enjoyable and the staff was very friendly. A good pick when you are tired of your norms and want a nice comfortable night out.
Pros: Diverse Flavors and Comfortable Setting
Cons: Parking

If you haven't been since they hired a new chef, or have never been, GO NOW! The food is fantastic, the waitstaff is friendly and I was told that weekends are slower than midweek. I went three weeks ago to try out the new menu and I've been thinking about it since. I'm going back tonight. The main dining room does have an echo, large groups can drown out your own table conversation, but I was busy eating so I didn't mind!
Pros: New chef, friendly waitstaff, good wine
Cons: parking

I hosted a surprise birthday party in the blue room there. The space itself was comfortable with benches along the walls with small coffee style tables. The server was attentive and brought the cake out with lit candles right on cue. The food was above average and included a variety of tasty treats from italian to indian. The kitchen did seem a little slow at preparing the food, but it was worth the wait. We brought our own decorations and the staff handled taking it all down at the end. I would definately recommed this.
Pros: good food and drink
Cons: kitchen was a little slow

Came in from Canada on a sundan night to try out this place after reading great reviews on cityseach. While the food and ambiance were spot on. There was no one here! We were almost the only ones in the restaurant... Also, on their website that on sundays they had cheap Hoegaardens, but they had none on tap..
Pros: Great food
Cons: parking is hard to find
