My oasis in the city
by belleamor at Citysearch
I can't even begin to explain how much peace and tranquility Hothouse brings to my life. As a person with chronic pain having access to inexpensive water therapy is a god send. The combination of the deep heat from the sauna, the muscle relaxation of the pool and breathing the wonderful steam in the steam room makes me feel years younger. All the sweating and steaming makes my skin look great as well. The staff mambers are all attentive and respectful and all the massage therapists are really good. I can always count on this place and have been a regular there for several years. The atmosphere is simple and clean and induces a very relaxed meditative state. I recommend Hothouse to any woman looking to unload some stress.
- Pros: inexpensive, centrally located, clean, drop in massage available
Sooooo relaxing
by sammysue78 at Citysearch
My partner and I have been here a couple of times and just loved it. The place is tiny but well worth it--the hot tub/steam room/sauna are all great, and it's just to hard to LEAVE when you're all relaxed. The showers have fantastic smelling soap available, there's water with fresh lime slices available too. A bit pricey, I think, but a very nice and relaxing experience for sure. The place is clean, the staff friendly, and the ambience great. If I lived closer I'd go more often!
- Pros: Great ambience, very relaxing.
- Cons: Small space
Great customer service, The best massage I've had!
by missalliea at Citysearch
Recently I had been having a lot of back and neck problems and decided to try a massage at my favorite place to relax, the hothouse.I've had quite a few massages before and work in a spa, so I tend to be pretty particular about treatments.
I had the best massage I've ever recieved, she was very knowlegable and has more experience performing massage treatments than any therapist I've met.
I highly recommend seeing Louise!
I love the Hothouse!
- Pros: all women, great hours
- Cons: none
Clean and Beautiful
by faith99 at Citysearch
I have been to the Hot House several times now and it is my favorite spa in town. Mostly because it is has a simple elegance and is very very CLEAN. I've actually never been to a spa as clean as this one. Also, the price is very nice so I can afford to go often. A little tip - It's worth it to go for the 10 visit punch-card because then you are only paying 10 dollars per visit!
Get a massage from Joya!

I am a regular at the spa - and I love it!! It is a respite from a busy noisy world... but I recently started becoming a regular for massage too (sometimes an hour sometimes a half hour) and I have to say Joya is one of the best massage therapists I have ever been to! Her touch is so soothing - I think she does energy work and I CAN REALLY TELL! Wow!
This clothing-optional, women-only bathhouse is an affordable way to pamper yourself.

The Experience
It's a tranquil hiding place for grown-up women. The space itself is composed as thoughtfully as a painting: turmeric-colored walls complement the royal blue tiling in the hot tub; pine pillars are offset by the flattened, oval, aluminum pipes jutting from the ceiling. Heated floors and a soothing relaxation area complete the scene.
The Services
Staff members are unerringly friendly, giving first-time visitors a complete tour and explanation of the entire spa. It's the attention to detail that really makes the difference here--the filtered water with fresh lemon wedges, the bottles of lightly scented soap in the shower, the lavender oil aroma in the steam room. Make sure not to forgo the thrill of the unique cold-water shower between sweats and soaks.
The Details
Hot tub, steam room, sauna and massage services are offered.
I love this place
by Larisag at Citysearch
What a great concept - any night of the week of weekend (exept Tuesdays) there is this cozy little women's spa you can go to until midnight right in capitol hill. Hydrotherapy is great (Sauna, Steam Room, Hot Tub). The place is low key and benign and the lighting is just right so I always feel comfortable, not in anyway self conscioius.
What I like best about Hothouse is the energy and attitude of the place. Welcoming, friendly, no attitude. Nice scents in the air too - eucalyptus and lavender. Lastly, if you can get in for massage, it's worth it. Good therapists and again very warm and friendly.
Go to hothouse if you want to 'pamper' yourself without spending a fortune and without the attitude.
- Pros: hours, staff, good prices
- Cons: capital hill
you get what you pay for
by jayteeinseattle at Citysearch
this place is very tiny. very. and bare bones but clean. we werent offered a tour, but the staff is friendly. there are no tissues, toilet seat covers, shampoo, lotion or anything like that so prepare before you go. the steam room can only really comfortably seat two. the place kind of reminds me of being on a small boat. for $12 its worth a try, but i wouldn't become a regular.
- Pros: 3 hr parking close by, value
- Cons: cramped
Hothouse an amazing oasis for woman
by drosof at Citysearch
Love this place...a relaxing affordable oasis in the middle of Seattle. For $12 you can use the small but beutifully designed spa (which includes hot tub, sauna and steam room), and for a little more you can get a great massage. It's extremely clean and woman of all shapes, sizes and orientations are graciously welcome.
- Pros: clean , affordable, great massage
