Best vegan asian cuisine in the 'hood. Moonlight has a completely vegan menu (as well as separate carnivore menu), with more than 100 selections, and their fake meats aren't heavily breaded like some places offer. Plus they have all different types of gluten, tofu, mock beef and chicken, tuna, etc... A few favorites... Sesame 'beef', Lemongrass 'chicken', 'chicken nuggets', and the Gluten with mushrooms and pineapple! YUM!!!!

The food was great! I love the two menus, one for vegetarians and one for meat-eaters. They are virtually identical, as the vegetarian dishes are the same as the meat/seafood dishes except they are made with fake meat/seafood. Communication was a bit hard at times because of our server's thick accent, but we managed to understand each other after all. One caveat: while credit/debit cards are accepted, you need to have enough cash on hand for the tip. Our server asked us to leave the tip in cash - I am glad we found enough among the four of us!

Pros: extensive vegetarian menu, great food

Cons: must tip in cash

Oh i love this place. I am vietnamese and was raised by a very talented mom who cooks the best vietnamese food ever. I'm probably biased towards her cooking. But anyways, this place provides food that is just as good as my moms. The best part about it is that it also has a vegan menu. My boyfriend and I love this place cuz he can have his vegetarian dishes and I can have my meat dishes. They are one of the best vietnamese restaurants around. Very traditional and authentic. A couple can walk out of the place stuffed to the max and only spend about $17. Service is alrighty... but food is delish.

This place ROCKS, especially if you are vegetarian/vegan. The vegan menu contains some of the best mock-meat dishes anywhere. Try the Moonlight tray, an appetizer sampler including roll-your-own spring rolls and these meat-like skewers that are to die for. The orange faux-chicken can't be beat -- they roast whole oranges with the skins on -- it's unlike anything you've ever had. Don't let the dumpy exterior and marginal neighborhood put you off -- the food and excellent service (they are SO nice, they actually helped me take my to-go order to my car) make Moonlight well worth the trip to 19th and Jackson.

Pros: food, service, vegan menu

Cons: neighborhood, ambience

Good Vietnamese food with two full menus, one for carnivores and an impressive vegan menu. The vegan creations will fool most carnivores and are top notch. Try the delicious lemon grass "chicken" and Mongolian "beef". Noodle soups are done especially well here. Try the "won ton" noodles or their specialty, the veggie pho.

Pros: great vegan menu, great value, free parking

If you like traditional Viet food and also want vegetarian, this is one of the best spots in Seattle for you. Both regular and vegan menus are long and interesting. Any vegan entree there is fantastic (i haven't tried the meat dishes), especially the vege chicken salad and various vege rolls. Viet beer is good too. The place could be so much nicer if they realized that people come there for a foreign experience. It would be better with more traditional furniture, music, and perhaps clothing, then the ambiance would match the great food.

Pros: inexpensivevegetarian, traditional Viet, friendly folks

Cons: , loud music/karaoke, sometimes

This place is great!! The vegetarian menu is huge. It matches the size of their non-vegetarian menu. The Pho is the best Vegetarian Pho I've had so far. Prices are great & even though the service is a little lacking, they are soo nice it's easy to overlook.

Pros: Vegetarian, Inexpensive, Great food

Cons: Forget to bring stuff, communication
