I took my Honda Civic to the Federal Way location in March 2008 because my husband bought me a gift card there (thanks sweetie) - because of my friend's recommendation - and I was SO pleased with the work. My car is my "baby" and I am extremely picky and my car was thoroughaly cleaned in all the cracks and crevices. And it had that new car smell when I got in. Made me love my car even more! Thanks Jim's Detailing you have a few customers for life KKL Tacoma, WA
Pros: Professional, thorough

I was told about this site by one of our good customers, they said we had some bad reviews here. Two of these reviews we are familiar with (redriderocks) was a customer that came back with some valid complaints and we took care of his concerns, note: we did not damage his car in anyway, he left satisfied but never came back to add that to his review on this site. In the case of (sevoyan) this customer was slanderous on his review of us, he was denied service because of his physical threats against us, his money was refunded and tint work removed. He had a heavy Russian accent and was trying to intimidate us into giving him free service. Our managers have been instructed to refuse service to him in the future and call the police if he causes a scene. To (brew 37) our policy is “your satisfaction is our guarantee" if you contact us with your concerns about the service you received we will make it right for you (anytime). We are also human and sometimes our employees don't live up to our company standards. We have been in this business for 30 years and we understand that our customers come first and that the quality of our work is our reputation and we work hard to make sure everyone leaves a satisfied customer. An open letter to anyone reading these reviews and using them as a basis for choosing or not choosing our company, as with all things there are two sides to every story and those of you reading this with some savvy understand this. Jim's Detail will offer a 20% discount to anyone who mentions this site and would like to use our services despite a few unhappy customer reviews. We have approximately 10,000+ customers per year come through our shops. We want to prove to you that the reason our company has been around for 30 years with three locations in the south sound is because we value our customers time and money and want to give you the best service possible. Sincerely, Jim's Detail Shops Seatac - Federal Way - Fife

I feel like I've been conned. I paid $130 for the same quality of work I could have received from the kids at the local gas station. Jim's shop was supposed to hand wash my truck (GMC Sierra), clean/detail the interior and shampoo the carpets. Their sign says no appointments necessary, no so, I needed an appointment and had to leave my truck with them all day. The wash, was sub par at best. The rear bumper was muddy, the front end looked as if they had barely wiped a towel over it and the windshield still had incects on it. The cleaning of the interior was just as bad. They did not clean the edges of the glass nor did they clean the crevasses of dash or center console. They used so much shine goop that you couldn't hardly hold onto the steering wheel. Everyone at work saw my truck right after Jim's was done with it and every one of them said "...now I know not to take my car there." Then after they shampoo the carpet they let my truck sit in the July sun with the motor running, windows closed and the heat cranked full tilt. It was so hot inside you couldn't touch anything. When I asked about the heater going full blast, the guy simply replied "we're drying the carpets out". This is one detail shop that will NOT get any referrals from me.

In August of 2006 I took my wife's truck to Jim's Detail to have her truck detailed as a birthday present. When I picked up the truck and brought it home it was a terrible job. My wife felt bad and didn't want to tell me but called Kevin to complain. Kevin told her if she gave him the chance he would make it up to her. So recently she called Kevin and scheduled to have my car detailed as a surprise. My car is a 06 Lancer. And on Tuesday April 3rd I dropped the car off and asked what time they would close. They told me 5:30. I arrived at 4:30 to find my car running in their lot, not even close to being done and a 1/4 tank of my gas used for drying time. Needless to say I was upset. I complained to Josh the manager. Josh said that he would pay for the gas out of his own pocket because if Kevin the owner found out he would get fired. I waited for them to finish my car and was so frustrated I left. I had to pick my wife up. When I got there to pick her up we started looking close at the car and it was terrible. There were so many places they didn't even wipe down let alone clean. And also while I was there I had to point out that they never cleaned the headliner, and they acted stupid about it... so my wife is furious because they charged her credit card more than Kevin had quoted her. She called her bank and had the charges reversed. Just yesterday I personally went directly to the shop as at work in the bright sun that day I noticed many scratched spots and obvious spots where the paint is actually removed. I spoke to Skyler the Assistant Manager who admitted that they used compound to remove sap from the paint and rubbed to hard removing the paint also. This is a brand new car with no dents, or even any door dings. Now there are large patches where the paint has been rubbed off to a dull finish and many scratches that cannot just be waxed over. Besides all the wax left on the car. Whatever products they used were obviously inferior as was their experience level.
Pros: Hmm, Don't have any
Cons: Hopefully you read this review before you actually spend your hard earned money

I went to Jim's detail to tint windows on my brand new car. The onwer Kevin was late to my appointment. When I got back to pick up my car it was not done. I had to come back three hours later. Three hours later my windows looked horrible. Kevin offered to do it all over again. Two days later bubbles and lines showed on my windows. I've called to complain, Kevin, the owner made sarcastic remarks about my complaint and never offered any apologies. I requested to come back in order to get it fixed. When I came back to my scheduled appointment Kevin was not there. He claimed that "lot's of s**t piled up and he had to work at the other store". I deamnded that someone fixes my windows tint and asked Kevin to come back later. I had to come back several hours later. Kevin, the owner, took the film off my windows and threw me out of the store. He told me that "he is not good enough for my demands". This place is a rip-off! Employees told me that the owner is losing his mind. He makes erratic decisions, does not show up for scheduled appointments, customers are getting upset, etc. Stay away from Jim's detail.
Pros: Stay away from Jim's detail
Cons: Stay away from Jim's detail

These guys are great its no wonder the have 3 locations in the Puget Sound area. I didn't need an appointment they were able to take me right in. I'm a busy proffesional and don't always have time to "schedule" service. The work performed was exceptional and came at an affordable price. I look forward to dealing with them again.
Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable, good value
Cons: -, -, -
