Giannis is a Godsend, very authentic, very consistent and always great service and atmosphere.
the bread and dipping sauce was out of this world and I have never seen a larger menu, something for everyone. I love their Seafood Cannelloni's and their Halibut dish, Ippoglosso
Very Good Italian Food!

Giannis' is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in this area. I'm fussy about Italian food, because I can make better Italian food at home than most of the places I've been to. If I'm going to go out for a meal, I don't want to pay for a food that's not as good as what I can make at home. In my opinion, most Italian restaurants serve food that tastes like bottled sauce and several different shaped pasta, and baked pasta with too much melted cheese. Giannis' fare is simple, but excellant. Lots of Olive oil, garlic and fresh herbs. My favorite pasta dish is the Penne Ala Matriciana (the Roman way) with olive oil, garlic, onion, tomato, bacon, and lots of red pepper. The Spagetti Puttanesca with capers and Kalamata olives, and the Spagetti Caprese with Fresh Mozzarella and Basil are my other favorites. The Minestroni soup is wonderful. The salad, which is served after the meal European style could be improved on. It's fine, but basically just iceburg lettuce. I could list a few other very good Italian Restaurants not terribly far away, but I wouldn't say they are better, just different. The prices are on par with other area restaurants in this category and the menu is huge. If you like real Italian food, you won't be disappointed.
- Pros: Great Minestrone Soup
- Cons: Dull Salad
Are you kidding me???

I have been going to Gianni's on and off (most often "off" as of lately) for about ten years. I began going there since it was located so closely to my office. The food is EXTREMELY over priced, and although the menu boasts fresh homemade desserts, they come from a box or carton. You can see servers dish store bought desserts while you are waiting to be seated. I believe the restaurant is kept dark so you can't see the dirt and grime. The carpets are disgustingly stained, and YES there are flies! The bathrooms are small and repulsive! Just as I read in a few other reviews, it is common to see the owner yelling and at his staff. This must be why there always seems to be a "Help Wanted" sign in the window. There have been some very nice wait staff; however, they are never the ones to stay employed. I would not recommend this restaurant and would be weary of positive reviews (they look to be made from the owner/proprietor)!!!!
- Cons: Prices, service, cleanliness, management, having to watch owner scream at wait staff.
If you don't like this, then you don't like Italian

There is nothing bad I can say about Giannis. They treat me and my family like we are their family everytime I come in. The food is actually real italian food... not that McItalian you get at Olive Garden or other large chain restaraunts. The setting is intimate and comfortable. At this price range ($20-40 per person) this is one of my all-time favorite places to eat.
$80 for Chef Boyardee and crappy service.

What a waste of my time and money. I'd rather eat meatloaf at home. The restaurant is dirty, the waiter was rude and red sauce tasted like Chef Boyardee. Dry bread, oily food, and they didn't even devein the prawns! We ordered the bruchetta and got a plate of wet hogie rolls with Chef Boyardee sauce and dried oregano sprinkled on top. When my dining companion, a sous chef in an upscale Seattle restuarnt, sent it back to the kitchen, the waiter refused! "What's wrong with it?" So we told him. He actually had the nerve to say "Well you didn't even try it. I'm not going to take it back" HE SAID THAT! Who wants to eat soggy hoagie rolls? The ministrone was nothing more than a cabbage soup with cayenne pepper in the broth. The water tasted like rusted pipes and the interior decor was reminiscent of those junkie mail order catalogues. Please, what ever you do, DO NOT go to this place. If this restaurant is recommended to you, please reconsider.
- Pros: Large parking lot
- Cons: Entire experience from food to service

Have had many different meals here and have NEVER been disappointed. Good food and lots of it for the price.
Horrible service with a bad attitude.

One of the WORST restaurant experiences of my life! Service was poor and our waiter was extremely unpleasant. Before ordering, we told him we had an entertainment book coupon, but he just waved it off. Then when we presented it at the end of the meal, he told us we didn't qualify because we hadn't ordered two entrees (even though the coupon didn't state that as a condition). Food was average at best, nothing special by any means and certainly not good enough to make up for the obnoxious attitude. Avoid this restaurant!
Authentic & Excellent

I'm Italian. I grew up with great food prepared by my mother and grandmother. For this reason, I do not usually eat Italian food out. On a recommendation from a friend, I went there and the food was incredible! We had the sausage & peppers spagetti and a chicken/mushroom dish in wine sauce. Really fantastic. Tomatoe tapinade w/bread was free. We also bought 2 jars of the Gorgonzola dressing. The place is cozy, not dressy/fancy, the ambience is warm, friendly...but who cares? I pay for great food!!
- Pros: Parking good
- Cons: A little hard to find
Worst Italian Place in the PNW
by vwgrrl at Citysearch
Only had 2 house beers from Italy (hmm..), food was ale carte or meal, which they did not fully explain. I received a slab of chicken on a plate by itself. (?!!?) WTF? They did not have oil/vin for bread (they did not know what I was talking about), they were out of almost everything i tried to order, very rude service. Oh! And I was finishing up my chicken when the server came and took my plate - I was not finished with it! I did not stop eating... She just took it. DO NOT GO HERE!
- Pros: Good parking
- Cons: only 2 beers, Nothing on tap, bad food
When you've had all the rest !!

I recently found out that Gianni's just celebrated its 22n year anniversary !! We have been customers for over 12 years, and have yet to have a bad meal.
I have had their Halibut on several occassions and loved it every time, I even saw Gianni on KTCS Chef series preparing it.
The experience you'll have their is one of warmth and comfort, much like their food.
The interior is cozy and authentic, Service is always excellent.
Give yourself a treat and ask Gianni to prepare a fruit Flambe, he puts on a great show!
After 22 years in business you know they must be doing something right!
I congratulate Gianni's and wish them another successful 22 years!.....
Ciao.......
- Pros: parking, extensive menu, music
The One and Only

I cannot believe anyone would dislike Gianni's food. Apparently if your used to your grandmothers Swedish food you obviously have recessive taste buds. How could anyone still like Pizza Hut, that statement alone reveals volumes about your culinary refinement. Gianni's has had nothing but great food and service for the past 20 years and we hope to continue as patrons for another twenty.
I have spent many years traveling up and down the coast of Italy sampling all sorts of Northern and Southern Italian cuisine and from my experience Gianni's food comes closest to an authentic Italian experience. Buon Appetito
- Pros: food, service, authenticity
- Cons: no american express
