Love the food

I think it's too bad they had a bad service. I have never seen a buy one get one free coupon, it's always been buy one and get $5 off, I know, cause I use it all the time. I always get the lunch combo garlic chicken which comes with pud thai and rice and soup at no extra cost. I have been eating there ever since it opened and it's addicting to me. At around $8 for the lunch combo, so what if it's $3 more then the Big Mac meal, it's delicous! I do wish the servings were a little bit bigger, but I am a very big eater, but can get full on their portions. This is not a fast food resturant, prices are gonna be a bit higher, and yet it's still cheaper then eating at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Black Angus.
- Pros: love garlic chicken lunch combo
- Cons: would like portions a little bigger
Overpriced and Underhanded
by EverettDweller
My wife and I just had lunch there last weekend. We ordered 2 entrees but had a coupon to get one free. We also had rice (white and brown) and tea, and the bill came to $38.00. ($27.00 after the coupon.)
The waiter made it sound like the rice came with the dishes (would you like white rice with that, or brown?), but it did not. And they sneakily charged us for a large tea rather than asking what size we wanted.
I don't like those kinds of tactics. I have e-mailed the restaurant but so far, no response.
- Pros: Very good food, some really creative dishes
- Cons: Overpriced
Go for Thai Spicy Red Curry

I ate here the first day they were open. It may cost above average, but the portions are good and they will cook it just like you want.
- Pros: Thai Hot Baby
- Cons: A Little High on Price
Best Curries north of the U-district

It's not a cheap eats location, but this is some very good food. I can't recommend the Yellow Curry enough, but the Red curry and Massaman are also exellent. This was a favorite location for an anonymous night out, as the booths felt very private dispite being in an open dining room.
I currently live over an hour away from Lana Thai, but I often think about making a special trip up.
- Pros: Wonderful Curry
- Cons: Dining room can be warm on hot days.
Owner tried to pass off plain white rice as "Jasmine Rice" then muttered stupid & other %# in Thai

Too bad we are fluent in Thai. The lunch special of red cocanut curry was weak and runny w/ literally less than a morsel or mouthful of chicken in it. The soup was good, the place was empty and I think there may be many people unfamiliar with Thai food eating there. The component in pad thai in cheap Thai restaurants is ketchup and what do you think was on our pad thai? Certainly, no peanuts or other typical garnishments-just Heinz 57 at it's best.
We had three different dishes-the red curry-awful, the prawns for 10.95 were fetid and probably sat out too long, the garlic chicken unremarkable. On top of that we ordered soft rolls -they contained no shrimp, fake crab(surimi) and were a bit hard.
\I won't go back-hate being lied to and referred to in an unpleasant manner. How dumb do you have to be not to discern that it is not Jasmine rice?
- Pros: Beautifully decorated but the empty service and bad food made up for it!
- Cons: Bad premise to lie to your customers
way overpriced...
by parkerw
This is one of those asian resturaunts specifically designed to bring dates to and generally "wow" your american friends with your worldliness, in other words, its an overpriced americanized over "asianized" decor with average food.
The decor, as noted, is very nice. The service is friendly and pleasant, but not extraordinary. The prices however, are very overpriced in my opinion... I ordered panang curry tofu, which is a standard thai dish that should be fairly inexpensive (nothing fancy here), and I payed 10.50 for it! Btw, this is just a little bowl of curry with tofu and various bell peppers...a little bowl! On top of that you have to pay for the rice extra! What a rip off. Plus it was very americanized style; good to average americanized, but americanized nonetheless. I ordered the highest spice level and it was barely spicy at all.
- Pros: ambiance/atmosphere, service
- Cons: price, romantic

The decor is beautiful and the service is efficient and pleasant. The food is VERY Americanized. So if you're looking for authentic or inspired Thai food, go somewhere else. However, if you're just looking for a decent sate or phad thai and want to go somewhere comfortable and not too "foreign," this is your spot.
- Pros: Friendly service, Lots of parking, Beautiful decor
Best Thai in Everett

My family has been a regular vistor to Lanna Thai since their opening a few years ago. The food includes many very good renditions of standard, Americanized Thai fare but seldom anything inspired. The service is outstanding, prices are appropriate and the Cosmos are delicious!
- Pros: Live Thai music, Cosmos, Large Menu
- Cons: Always same menu
