Good theater

The neptune theatre is a good one. It's an older theatre, with only 1 large theater room. The sound is still good. Although the seats are old, they aren't uncomfortable and you can still see the movie pretty well. Also, the movie crowd is pretty good. The neptune's ticket prices are very reasonable and they show good movies, including their film festival movies. The neptune is a very good throwback movie theater.
- Pros: Nice old fashioned theater, good prices
- Cons: parking is hard to find
With a name like Neptune, this theater better be epic. It is.

In Short
Maybe it's the old-fashioned balcony or the aging nautical thematics, but this theater has a special atmosphere. When it opened as a silent movie house in 1921, it featured undersea lighting and murals of ancient mariners, but a renovation left only a few portholes and the green-eyed heads of King Neptune staring down from the ceiling. It generally puts its king-size screen and ample sound system to good use with appropriately sized movies.
the only reason I go to the U-District

I've seen dozens of movies here over the years and the Neptune never changes. It's creaky, comfortable, with decent sightlines, and it never smells like industrial disinfectant, which alone puts it far above any chain theater in town. Like the Egyptian, the concession choices include things you might actually choose to eat outside of a movie theater.
