The varsity theatre is so so. It is kinda run down. I agree with the previous posters about the projector breaking down during the film. It happened when we saw a movie there a few years back. The stadium seating upstairs is ok. The theater is good if you are looking to watch independent films or are looking for a good value.

Crying Room in back

Yes, the Varsity is rather humble in appearance, as a previous reviewer noted. But if you're a new parent, the crying room in back will seem like a palace. Call ahead, find out what flick is playing in that theater, reserve a spot in the crying room, and then spend a night out of the house with your partner and your new one.

good old theatre

Not the best theatre in the world, but it has a rare selection of movies. For example, who else would show beatles movies and hand out cds before the show? Varsity theatre used to do the Rocky Horror Picture Show -- actors and all (back in the day). I'm glad they have foreign films and show classic movies, as well as new releases.

Poor manner

Varsity theater is the worst theater I have ever been to. I am from a very small village in India and I never experienced such a bad service there.

The staff were very insulting to everyone.

We had to take three breaks during a movie called "Lagaan" since the projector died three times and they did not have any other projectors in the theater. We did not receive any refunds.

I never recommend it to anyone.

Very Insulting

I watched "Lagaan" at the Varsity theater. The movie was interupted 3 times because the thater did not have a good and also a back up projector.

I and other people in the theater asked for refund. But we recieved none! The manager said that he had warned everyone about this. That was not ture since I and many people did not know about it. We asked for free passes since one of the employees had offered it to us. But the manager said that employee did not have any authority to say such thing! Going to this theater was a waste of time and money. It's a place that no one welcomes you. I and many other people were insulted both by the manager and the employees.
