Tiny park with impressive views of downtown Seattle and Elliot Bay.

The Experience
Kerry Park is a small grassy plot of land, about 80 yards long and 30 yards wide, nestled high on the south slope of Queen Anne Hill. It's primary draw is the view it affords. The Space Needle and the Experience Music Project lie at your feet; farther south is downtown. Mount Rainier looms in the background. To the north are the Victorian mansions of one of Seattle's most established and well-to-do neighborhoods. The park is a great place for newcomers because it offers such excellent geographic orientation. You'll see plenty of tourists here taking pictures, but you'll also eye more than a few starry-eyed locals--many a romantic kiss has been given here, and it's a popular site for weddings.
The Background
Seattleites bid many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sperry Kerry Sr.--they donated the park to the city in 1927.

I'll never forget this park. The love of my life guided me here (I was driving his truck and I didn't live in Seattle) and we watch this great view... AS HE BROKE UP WITH ME! The view eased the pain a little and the walk down to the fence provided a cool breeze that chilled my tears a little. Its a great breakup point as well as romantic spot.
- Pros: good parking, GREAT view
- Cons: sad memories, windy

Kerry Park is perfect for picnics on a sunny day or photo opportunities when guests are in town. A great way to impress visitors with a spectacular view of downtown Seattle. The Space Needle is so close you can almost touch it! Also, twilight is gorgeous from Kerry Park since the view overlooks the waterfront.
A short walk from Kerry Park, afterwards you can check out nearby Latin coffehouse 'El Diablo' with its sultry Cuban music and quality beans. Plus, Diablo is attached to a fantastic independent bookstore. Or walk up through Queen Anne for some delicious dinner at italian favorite 'Firefly' or local hot-spot 'Five Spot'.
Kerry Park - A Special Date Must

Kerry Park was the nightcap to my first date with my wife - 21 years, 1 month and 4 days ago. That it was ranked #4 may be a good thing - would not want too many people to flock to it! It is a magical spot!
