Not you father's, err, my Satellite Lounge

by HeyPorter

I lived on Capitol Hill for four years, and many a happy hour and weekend night was spent at the Satellite. It was cheap, dark, the food was great, and characters entertaining. Went back this weekend after having been away from Seattle for almost three years to find TABLE CLOTHES on the tables, plasma screens on the wall, a DJ playing DISCO, and ADEQUATE LIGHTING. Sigh. I guess things change. To the Satellite's credit, the drinks were still pretty cheap.

Best Dam "Happy Hour In This Town" Seahawk Sunday Brunch 11:30 a.m - 7:00 p.m.

by wickywicky

After years of hearing about this joint my boyfriend and I wondered in on Sunday afternoon. Brunch ends at 3:00 p.m. $10.00 for eggs benedict and a mimosa, unreal. $22.00 and we where out the door. Prices are right on and the atmosphere extremely funky. We are planning to watch the Seahawk games at this bar.

  • Pros: Best Bloody Mary (bartender named Brian)
  • Cons: can't think of one...we are going back to find some bad things....(-:

Great place to have a drink and snack

by BethanyAmber

So it was a Saturday night and we were headed down Pike, in search of a place to have a drink and listen to some music. And finally after 2 years of walking by this place, we decided to go in. And we had the best time hanging out at the bar, chatting with the bartenders and listening to everything from Weezer to Al Green. Highly recommend this place, great drinks, good prices, and the food was really tasty too.

not anything special

by irishKyLe

i came in at happy hour, I heard they had 1/2 off appetizers. the appetizers were only $1 off and they dont have a good beer selection.

service was slow, but understandable since there was only 1 bartender and he was like 60!

i ordered the shuttle meal, great value! very tasty, and you get alot of food for $5.

not recommended for people visiting Seattle, it just doesn't demonstrate what Seattle has to offer. i would recommend this place to someone looking for something new and cheep, that doesnt have high expectations....

  • Pros: the shuttle meal
  • Cons: everything else

Best Burger Deal In Seattle!!!!

by spiderb

Wednesday's at the the Satellite Lounge are no less than off the hook burger nite. Two for one ham burger nite. They are the best dam burgers in this town. The cook said they order there meat from a special place. These burgers have not additives such as dye or persevatives. They also serve a mean straight up margarita call the Natty Nat. THe juke box also has the the most eclectic mix of artist I 've seen anywhere. This place has to be included in the top ten Bar's in Seattle.

My girl friend and love there lounge Dj on Saturday nites. He spins it all. This place really rocks. Check it out!

  • Pros: Excellent Happy Hour and Cocktails
  • Cons: No Blended Drinks....I need a Pina Colada!

I Love The Satellite Lounge

by angieray713

I haven't been there since I moved from Capitol Hill, but I miss it dearly. A great atmosphere, a great staff (a little slow when serving food), great food (try the deep fried goodness!) and not at all expensive.

  • Pros: Clean, Great Food , Great crowd
  • Cons: service kind of slow, update jukebox, serve food later

No-frills neighborhood bar lures Capitol Hill residents with happy hour treats.

by Contributor

The Scene
An offshoot of the well-worn Comet Tavern, the Satellite Lounge doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is--a decent place to grab a drink, to eat some pub-style food (including a surprising number of veggie options), and to catch up on gossip with Capitol Hill denizens. Eclectic, local art graces the walls, but there's no particular theme here; appropriately, the crowd varies night to night. The furniture is old and placed close together--if you're looking for privacy or romance, go elsewhere.

The Draw
There's no snobbery to speak of at this bar, which welcomes a very diverse clientele. Regardless, most everyone keeps to himself or herself, making this an acceptable option for a late-night cocktail. For Seattleites on a budget, the nightly specials are hard to beat. The best is on Wednesdays, when all burgers are 2-for-1 ($7.25), with $2.25 microbrews.

Great dark bar

by hlywdsm

Satellite rules Capitol Hill! It is nice to stroll into a bar where you can grab a seat at the bar, get a STIFF drink and actually hold a conversation with the person next to you without yelling. Bartenders are great and the regulars are welcoming. Don't get the happy hour Nachos, just chesse melted over chips.

  • Pros: cheap / stiff drinks, fast service, dark
