What a Nightmare!
by ShockedandMortified
GO here if your looking to have a HORRIBLE time and get a black eye! The music is some what decent- The bouncers......that's a whole other story! The bouncers gets kicks from beating up of inoccent poeple(in this case, girls), yes, thats right, BEATING girls up! BOUNCERS! The guys who are suppose to stop fights are starting them at this place! We were there a few days ago and that was our last time there, after getting pulled by my hair and my friends getting shoved around you come to realize this place hire's idiots! If you here for a review, change your plans now, get as far as possible from this horrible hole in the wall! The owner of this place should be ashamed to run it with those stupid bouncers- who cant get real jobs so they get hired at this place to push people around, talk about power trips! (doesn't even deserve 1 star)
WORSED NIGHTMARE in seattle.

I've been to bad places but Tia Lou tops them all. The music is horrible. The bouncers ( power trips) earning peanuts have guts to kick people out for no good reasons. The place hardly deserve one star. I was there 2 weeks ago and damn first and last time. If you here for a review, change your plans know. To add to that the club aint all that. Am business minded...and men i feel sorry for the owner while the stupid bouncers/watchmen drive the club to the grave. And WHATS UP WITH BLINDING CUSTOMERS FACES WITH NEON FLASH LIGHTS...ohhhh I forgot its the f***** watchmen. get real jobs losers
Best place for dancing
by martiejean
I made special arrangements for a good friends birthday party and it was a special night out. Tia Lou's is an awesome place for dancing!!! Not so crowded and many platforms to dance on. No cover charge before 10pm. They have okay music mixed to be dancable to. Also fog machines and fans to cool you down. And Bubbles blowing from the ceiling. An entire outside smoking area with a bar!! I will for sure be back for some dancing!!!
- Pros: Not so crowded and an outside smoking area with a bar
- Cons: drunk people wanting to dance with you
good food, good fun, friendly staff
by mihija
Each time I have visited Seattle, I make a point to stop into Tia Lou's for great food, and a welcome back attitude. The bartenders are pleasant, efficient, and generous. The staff here work long hard days and put up with a bunch of cr*p from none other than the nay-sayers who make a point to bad mouth them on this website. So sorry, cry-babies, that your drunken over-the-top evening was ruined by the bouncers whose job is to promote safety and keep things under control. So GET OFF THE STAIRS, move out of the way when asked the first time! Use a little common sense and understand that people are doing their jobs not out to make you miserable. ITS NOT ABOUT YOU...it's about the well-being of not only the patrons but the safety and accountability of the staff. The only problems I have ever encountered in Tia Lou's are the rude, young, drunks who welcome themselves into your personal space and into your evening. Hint, gentlemen, if a woman doesn't look your way and smile, you're not welcome. Believe it or not, people still go out these days to spend time with friends, not hook up with the first hard body, self-involved idiot who thinks he has a chance. Go to Tia Lou's with friends and if the crowd seems strange and obnoxious as it can at times, stick together, ignore the drunks and follow staff directions, it will be a better night for all. Most of all, respect the staff and they will respect you...here or anywhere. Remember, they are providing you with a SERVICE, NOT there TO SERVE you! Overall...take the time for dinner and drinks at Tia Lou's. Enjoy the deck in warm weather and enjoy good service and good food all year 'round...cheers!
- Pros: great staff, friendly staff, good food
- Cons: crowd can be a bit young and over the top
Thank you for the comments on Tia Lou's

I recently flew into Seattle this last week and was glad to see not everything in Seattle has been a loss. Yet this nightclub was an extreme disappointment . I started in clubs and owned a few in the years past (DaVinci's etc.) but this has an all time low. I'm actually embarrassed to think that Belltown has adopted this type of un-classed atmosphere and pseudo dance club erotique'. Every restaurateur/nightclub owner should have the general basics on club enjoyment, mis-managed staff, security, and high school'esque patrons are not a part of it. From Seattle to Vegas to New York, have I ever been that embarrassed as in my home town. Shame on Tia Lou's for lowering the standards Belltown had to offer. At least Axis had sub decent staff, security, and it's patrons weren't the myspace wanna be's looking like South Tacoma white trash. And what's up with the fake photographers? Please....devote a little something more than the daddy rich kids with a camera for Xmas......
Tia Lou's: Where every greaseball in Seattle goes after 10:00pm.
by WhyWouldIWantThisPublic
DO: Hang out at Tia Lou's from whenever they open to 10pm - on a nice warm night, up on the deck.
DON'T: Stay there after 10pm, get out of there as fast as you can.
Target Market: Young greaseball guys from all over Seattle Metro. There were so many guys there that had two hoops, necklaces, shirts wide open, greasy hair - it was a joke and to all you girls who actually are quality, stay away after 10 pm.
My Story? Well, I went out on the dance floor with my wife and her two friends and I couldn't believe how many guys swarmed onto all 3 of them. I had a russian drunk dude grinding on my wife and I had two african guys grinding on the other two girls. It was as if these three girls (all married by the way) were going to turn around and respond positively to some international drunk guy helping himself to an uninvited american girl grind.?. And I get it that this happens but when the girls communicated they weren't into it, no guy stepped away and then that's when I had to sort scoop each of them closer to me, one at a time.
All we wanted to do was get a few songs in and we didn't even get one in before I had to escort all of the girls off the dancefloor meanwhile keeping my head on a swivel for the drunk russian guy who thought he could follow me off the dancefloor and sucker-punch me in the back of the head (IF I had taken my eyes off him). I literally walked away only watching him as he left one person between us as we moved through the crowd. I'm not a fighter and I'm not big but it would have gotten ugly.
You know who was the saving grace in all of this? The bouncers, and yeah that is a shocker, but they actually deserve some serious props because 10 minutes later when eastern block guy came upstairs and was bothering the girls again, I found a security guy and told him I didn't want to start any trouble but this guy was a problem. He immediately grabbed 4 guys and kicked that a-hole right out of the club & we thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks guys.
Don't go here

On Saturday night I was at Tia Lou?s night club in Seattle, it was a horrible place. I was there for a bachelorette party for one of my great friends. I was helping plan and get everyone safely to and from the bar so I was not drinking. When 12:30 came around two of us were ready to leave, I was trying to find the third friend and the bar was so packed you could not see anything. I went up the stair just to see if I could see her. The bouncer there yelled at me for being on the stairs. I went to the bottom of the stairs and reached over to tap my friend when I did that I got pushed by that bouncer, and he began to yelling at me get away from the stairs. He then got into get in my face put his chest against me pushing me into the crowd. I of course tried to stand up to him and told him to get out of my face and as soon as I didn?t think he kicked my out the bar. I am not saying I was completely right about being near the stairs I realize there is fire issue, but the way I was handled was so extreme. I just feel like there is nothing I can do about this cause it is a bar and most of the time people are drinking and these things happen. So I feel by telling as many people as I can about this maybe it can be resolved by shutting down such a terrible club.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Everything
Thank you for reviewing!
by osodiva
A big thank you to everyone who has written reviews here. I am planning a Bachelorette Party for 25 girls in a couple weeks and had told everyone we were going to Tia Lou's. I actually stumbled upon the review's by accident, but I will NOT be taking this party to this club because of the reviews you all have taken the time to write. It sounds like NIGHTMARE.
Thanks for saving me the trouble and the $$.
BEWARE and watch your bartender make your drink
by BigGirlWithAttitude
My girlfriend and I got slipped date r ape dr ugs at this club. Once I have proof (I already know it happened, now I'm out to prove it)... I'll definitely press charges. Watch the bartender make your drink, no matter where you go. These dru gs can K I L L a person. Our drinks were *never* out of our direct control except when the bartender was making it. One of the last things I remember was the very odd look in his eyes. We didn't get r aped because our third friend (who didn't drink the same drinks) took care of us. A guy did try to take my friend... it's a detail she vaguely remembers, and believes he was a bartender. I believe she was the target, but impossible to get just her since I bought us two of the same drink. It certainly won't be the last time this guy tries this, so if you care for your safety, stay FAR AWAY from Tia Lou's. I always liked it up until last night. I'll never go there again. Heck, after that, I'll probably never go clubbing again. Sorry for the spacey words; Citysearch wouldn't let me submit certain words, but I thought it critical other ladies knew about this.
- Pros: Happening scene, nice place to dance, good music
- Cons: Bartenders might slip you roofies
I got punched in the face by a tia lou's patron last week!! & the security encouraged it!!
by funkthehouse
I got punched in the face by a tia lou's patron last week!! and for no reason at all. This club is super trashy and too many would be Thugs come here with a bad vibe. And the security did nothing but watch and encourage this incident.
- Pros: none
- Cons: ugly people, rude staff, thugs that listen to rap music all day, too expensive
