Two huge floors of campy, used and new vintage clothing create unlimited possibilities for outrageousness.

by Contributor

The Scene
This sprawling addition to the Broadway fashion scene buys and sells cheap. The beneficiaries of this low-end practice are clientele who don't want to dump a ton of cash on a one-night getup. Red Light's sections are tidily and logically organized and easy to navigate--women's dresses are sorted chronologically or by genre ("1930s" or "Hawaiian"). Wearable wall displays include a revered sweatshirt from the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle. To date, no one has offered the right price for the relic.

The Goods
Red Light's selection spans many decades. From 1920s Bakelite jewelry to 1980s soccer shirts, true vintage sticklers and cheap-deal hunters alike will find something. Retro is reasonable here, whether it's a pair of blue and gold '70s roller skates, black platform stilettos or men's guayaberas.

Fun place

by kee22

I haven't gotten a lot of things from here..I agree with the previous reviewer, the prices are kind of high...but it's a great place to get costumes or just browse and have fun putting on hats and weird looking vintage clothes.

  • Pros: Vinage clothes, fun place
  • Cons: Kind of expensive

Good finds, not so good prices.

by alisonkramer

This place's trendy reputation has definitely inflated the prices over the past decade, and as hipsters become prepsters with an edge, the prices aren't likely to go down. The merchandise is some of the best around, and if you hunt, the deals are still there.

One of the best....

by johnnybyerly

The Red Light has been a standard for getting your cool duds. Its been around for a long time (at least the UDistrict store has) and is one of the best places to find the funky cool clothing. The customer service ain't so good, lots of poser youngsters working there, offering you pennies for your good clothes when you want to sell, but overall its one of the better stores in Seattle.

  • Pros: Good Funky Clothing, Good Location, fair prices
  • Cons: employee attitudes, low buying offers

Biggest and Best

by shazinski

By far the biggest vintage store in town. Which means you have a better chance of finding something that fits. Great new stuff as well. I found a great pair of red lines in my size, staff was helpful and unpretentious. Also have a great selection of Records. Bought a T-Rex Lp , and a hard to find Sonics Lp. Highly recommended store.

  • Pros: inexpensive, great records, vast selection
  • Cons: parking difficult

Very Nice

by Towlie

An all around great store. Employees are friendly, but not excessively so. It has a good mix of new and used clothes, sorted by color, which is nice. Prices are good, and the quality of their used clothes is very good (compared with value village and the rest). All very stylish clothes. They also sell wigs, boas, and other accessories.

  • Pros: Style, Value, Organization
  • Cons: none, none, none
