Queena's Deep-Tissue Massage is the BEST!!

by honeyblade7

Queena at Spa Nordstrom gave me the BEST deep-tissue massage I have EVER had!!!

I am a fan of deep-tissue but in all my years in Seattle have not found a decent one until Queena. She specializes in deep-tissue, and is also the most pleasant person you will ever meet! I HIGHLY recommend her for any aches/pains you may have--I feel FABULOUS! Will definitely make a massage by her part of my routine.

Awesome Spa Experience! Great Massage!

by martav

My husband and I came to Seattle to have a weekend away for our 10th anniversary and thought a massage and maybe more would be relaxing. Our massage therapist met us downstairs to make sure we there since our appointment started just before the store opened. His name was Steve and he was great. He focused in on exactly where I had been having trouble. My neck was able to turn farther than it had in months and the pain in my arm from typing all day was so much better. He was very professional and I felt quite at ease. The whole time I was there he(and everyone else too) made sure we were doing ok and that our clothes and such were in the garment bag and secured untill we were ready to go. Next I had my mani/pedi. The technician Kelly was wonderful. She was super friendly. It was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep during the parafin wax part. Those warm booties and gloves they put on you over it were heavenly. The lady who did my facial was also lovely. She ran a little late for me so she did my eyebow/lip waxing for free. She did a great job and was very informative on what I should be doing for my skin on a daily basis. I wasnt sure how my husband would feel about this whole experience(maybe too frou-frou) but he really enjoyed himself also. We also had lunch in between part of our appointments. Both salads were good and the elixir drink that Kelly mixed up was very refreshing. There was also a powder room after with brushes, curling iron, and everything else you would need to put yourself back together. If there was anything I needed they already had it all taken care of. It was a wonderful experience and I cant wait to go back. Steve was GREAT!

THE BEST FACIAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by skipro01

I got a gift certificate for christmas last year and decided what the heck lets use it. I called Nordstrom and asked to be recommended to something they thought would be good. I wanted a facial and eye brow wax. The lady knew exactly who to recommend and put me with Marina. She was amazing, not to mention the serive at the front was great, but Marina was the best I have ever seen. My facial was so relaxing, so rejuvinating, it is hard to explain. She was gentle, yet firm and when I was done, I felt like I was 16 again. I got complements on my skin for weeks after that and who ever I sent her way, they were just as pleased as me. I have been back there since 4 times and love everytime. Marina is referred to as the brow queen the lady told me up front and she definatly proved that!

  • Pros: everything with a pro. I has the best facial and brox wax ever !!!!!
  • Cons: none

Avoid..Not a true spa experience

by mimosastyle

Don?t waste your time or money! My husband and I went for massages just recently. Any review that claims this is an ?oasis? is absolutely misleading. We try out a different spa each month for our monthly massage date and will never return to this spa. I chose this place because of reviews on this site. My therapist had me change in one room and leave all of my belongings folded on a table in an unlocked room, to be moved to another room later. I really felt uneasy about leaving my purse and other belongings. In a typical spa, there is a separate changing area with locking lockers to secure your belongings. We were both brought to the ?relaxation? area, which is anything but. They really need to block it off from the noise. Staff members are constantly walking back and forth, the hallway was noisy and there was a lot of loud talking and doors slamming. It was not serene. Neither massage was very good, they were lackluster at best. After our massages, we felt rushed. We were told to get dressed in the same room as our massages. We were each asked if we wanted to purchase any products, then led to the front desk waiting area. Again, in a typical spa- you are taken back to a relaxation area, in your robe ,for as long as you wish. Typically you are offered water, tea, etc. before taking whatever time you need to get cleaned up and dressed. Not at this spa. There is not an opportunity to relax afterwards; you can?t take a shower, nothing. It really was a very poor experience. I can not speak about the salon area as I did not tryout any of those services. Salon services appear to be in a separate area. There are some great pampering spas in the Seattle area. This is not one of them! We would NOT recommend to our friends.

  • Cons: Can't relax or shower after services

Great experience!

by awalenaw

I tried this place out last week and it was just what i expected. At the very least it was much more enjoyable than my first facial at some little rinky dinky place. This place isnt huge but instead of say small I would definatly say it was cozy. My facialist knew what she was doing and my face has never looked better. Ill be back:)

  • Pros: Skill, atmosphere
  • Cons: can be a bit pricey, but worth it

relaxing and private

by pikake21

I was given a gift certificate for my birthday to this spa, and I wanted to wait until the perfect time to have my first manicure here. By recommendation of a friend, I knew that I should schedule a spa manicure, which includes being in your own private room, not being bothered by the nuisance of having to look at your hands being filed and scrubbed. I was very happy with my experience, as they were not focused (after ensuring the health of my nail beds) on applying a layer of polish. Instead, I was seated in a comfortable chair which was then reclined, given the option of putting on a robe and slippers, and then pampered extensively by a wonderful technician. One nice added touch, was a herbal juice infusion drink that I was offered to follow up with the treatment. It was refreshing! I will definitely make it a point to come back here, and try out some of the other treatments that are offered.

  • Pros: relaxing, comfortable, friendly technicians
  • Cons: reception was on the cold side..oh well.

Perched above the frenzied shopping below, this day spa moves at its own peaceful pace.

by Contributor

The Scene
Massage rooms feel more like mini-guest suites in a five-star hotel; plush linens, sleek fixtures and marbled showers wrapped in earthy tones set a luxurious tone. Stop in during the week and you'll barely see another face besides your own. Services can be used for a quick recharge, but staying a little longer is the way to experience true nirvana.

The Services
Among the 15-plus body therapies is the Java Lulur, a jasmine body exfoliation and honey-yogurt wrap; after 20 minutes in the cocoon, the toughest part is sliding your jelly-like body into the private shower for a quick rinse. Need to unwind after a tough workout? Try the hot stone massage, where warm stones are used as an extension of the hands to reach deep into the muscles to revitalize the body.

The Details
Massage, body treatments, wet treatments, facials, hair removal, sunless tanning, manicure/pedicure, full-service salon.

Worst experience ever

by chocophilic

The aesthetician kneaded my face like a piece of dough. Very heavy-handed. It was appalling. By far, the worst facial I have ever had. Will never go back. So disappointing.

What you go to Day Spas for

by bluetempest

The staff here were very helpful. I stumbled upon this Day spa while shopping and set up an appointment at the last minute. My appointment started a little late but not by much, I didnt have a problem with it since I set up my appointment at the last minute and they bascially fitted me in. Everyone was very nice and accomodating. The atmosphere was very relaxing, it's the cliche serene music, low lighting, robe and slipper spa, I loved it! Even thought my appointment didn't start on time, I could tell this is not the norm and the fact I basically was a walk in I had no problem with it. Plus they gave me my polish free.

I do not live in Seattle but visit every year and I will get to Spa Nordstrom when I do.

  • Pros: atmosphere, customer service

Seriously the best Spa in Seattle

by missmau

My experiences with this Spa are always sublime. The atmosphere is relaxing and upscale, private treatment rooms are spacious, staff is friendly and experienced, products and services are awesome! If you like pedicures, you HAVE to try the Spa Pedicure... I truly got the best one of my life from Anthony. And for facials, book in advance to get an appointment with Parvin, she works miracles. The famed Nordstrom Customer Service obviously extends upstairs to the Spa!

  • Pros: Professional Staff, Tranquil Environment, Central Location
