You're better off eating Jack in the Box from a dumpster
by DJay
My girlfriend and I wanted to like this place. We really did. From the outside it had all the makings to be a great "locals only" hangout- amazing location, intriguing looking building. However, the honeymoon ended as soon we walked in the door. Despite the nice decor, the restaurant had an atmosphere equivalent to the DMV: the staff was blatantly rude, lacked basic knowledge about menu items, and the service was painfully slow even though the place was nearly-empty. Also, We must have been seated near a vent coming off the bathroom but the place smelled FUNKY. Like they had been boiling spoiled broccoli in vats of urine all day. In general the place was filthy. The food was no better. BOTH my girlfriend and I discovered hair in our food. Seriously? Even without the hair the food was disgusting. Imagine if you partially warmed up an expired TV dinner from 7-11 and then poured canola oil on top of it. Though we were both hungry neither of us could stomach much of our meals. To top it all off everything was WAY overpriced. Even if you paid me I would not eat here. Honestly I'm no restaurant connoisseur and it doesn't take much to make me happy but this place was unbelievable.
In a nut-shell: Do NOT go here.
Great HH
by SueZ444
My friends and I have a sort of "HH club" where we try different places for HH periodically and we all give kudos to Greenlake Bar & Grill as having one of the most decent HH food for the value. For the prices you get pretty decent sized portions of your basic menu items, such as wedge and Caesar salads, burgers, fries, etc. Drinks specials also during HH.
- Pros: Great HH deals, location
- Cons: Parking
Why bother!!!! Does not even deserve a single STAR!!!!!!
by astrophyllite
Seattle is a city with great restaurants, bars and cuisine, why bother embarrassing yourself by taking a date here and wasting your money and looking like a scmuck for bringing them to such a horrible less than zero restaurant and bar, that even the regulars scoff at. The Grill offers mediocre food that is over priced, bad service not worth tipping on and an environment that makes a morgue look like a rave. Seattle has to many great places to choose from, find a better place to go.
Great Happy Hour, Good Place for Families
by gingersnapz
I like this place. The atmosphere is comfortable. The food is good. The service is good. They have a great happy hour and I can take my kids here sometimes and they enjoy it. Parking can sometimes be a hassle - but it's Green Lake!
- Pros: Great Happy Hour, Friendly
- Cons: None really - sometimes you have to wait to be seated

An all around amazing restaurant
by meenmeen
I love this restaurant. I have been there probably 30 times and I have never left dissapointed. They have great food and drinks and the most amazing happy hour I have ever been too. You can get a plate of pasta for $1.99! It might not be the best pasta you have ever had but it's cheap and it tastes good. During regular hours I always get the raviollis or the burger--both are delicious! I tend to drink mixed drinks and cocktails and while they are a little spendy they are always stiff. They have great servers too; everyone has always been friendly, energetic and attentive, even when they are super busy. The atmosphere is great, it's funky, upbeat and they play great music in the bar. You are never subjected to dreary elevator type music. It's a great place and I recommend it to every one.
- Pros: Happy hour, stiff drinks
- Cons: It's hard to get a seat in the bar at times
Great Happy Hour
by ashwhit
I have dined here on several occasions and have left satisfied each time. The happy hour menu cannot be beat--it's so cheap--I especially loved the coconut shrimp for $1.95--a whole platefull!! Though I have not sat at the bar, the drinks I have had there have been great, if not a bit strong on the amaretto sour. I would recommend this as a good place to take a date--not too expensive and the atmosphere is great.
- Pros: Great Happy Hour Menu
The last time we went....
by orangehouse
The service was average, the fish tacos were okay. The lobby smells of cleaning products. (Go easy on the bleach next time.) I had the worst pork chop I have ever paid for, dry, flavorless and small. They brought the wrong side dish with the plate. I sent back the rice for the expected mashed potatoes. I should have kept the rice, the potatoes were cold, clammy and tasted like they were from a box.
I say the last time, because it was and will always be, the last time we go there.
- Pros: It seems like a good place for families and it was not too busy.
- Cons: I don't like the food they serve, and it is expensive.
Yick! Only if you're desperate!
by dickknows
We were lured in by the $13.95 three course dinner -- but should have known that it was too cheap to be good! The pasta with chicken literally tasted like Pasta-Roni -- but with less salt -- and the chicken looked like those pre-cooked strips you can buy at the supermarket. My rice was crunchy and the steak came with a huge puddle of thousand island on top -- ew! The only redeaming thing: a gigantic ice cream sundae for the third course -- but you really cant screw up ice cream!
Avoid the "Hallibut" and Gumbo
by brenthawkinsmd
The Gumbo tasted like it came out of a can. The "hallibut" as they called it is nothing more than fish-sticks.
- Pros: Location and View of Greenlake
- Cons: Polite but very slow customer service. Unacceptable food quality.
