best mexican hot chocolate ever!

This place serves the best mexican hot chocolate ever! spicy, sweet, delish! Just moved to QA and frequent this place a lot. YUM! And the staff all seem really cool. I haven't tried their food yet though, but plan to soon!

Whoa! Yummy coffee, cool digs

I happened on this place by accident then didn't know what to order and got to have the best tasting coffee I've experienced. So fresh and tasty and just plain unusual. After many good cups of joe in Seattle this was such a delight because of the reinterpretation of the standard, yeah it's good. But this was GREAT! I want to hang longer and play battleship and listen to live music. But I'm afraid unless there is dancing I'll be jumpin' and jiving from the enormous number of coffees I'll imbibe! Wowzer! You must try it!

Best Coffee Shop in Seattle (well, one of the best anyway...)

The painting on the interior wall is what makes this cafe so unique, but the quality of coffee also makes this place worthwhile coming back every other day! The milk foam is always as creamy as whipped cream. The molasses flavored sweet espresso is so addictive... We just moved in the neighborhood, and I can't say that El Diablo was not one of the reasons we bought the house.

Best Coffeehouse in Seattle, I swear!

Until I moved to Queen Anne, I was convinced I found the perfect coffeehouse. I came to Diablo to study and I was hooked. It's a great place for desert, reading, chatting or listening to live music provided on the weekends. Definitely recommend the mexican hot chocolate.

I used to live right next door to El Diablo. The service is excellent, the coffee is dee-lish and the atmosphere is fabulous! I will be sad the day that all the UW/SPU kids find out about it and it turns into the next Zoka's.

Wonderful Coffee, wonderful people!

El Diablo has become a home away from home. Their mexican mocha is to die for and the ambiance is fabulous. They have recently added a second floor dubbed 'heaven' where people can work while they take advantage of El Diablo's free wi-fi access. The baristas are wonderful and if you go there often enough, they remember not only your name, but what you like to drink. The El is a wonderful place to visit with friends and enjoy a great cup of coffee. On the down side, their pastry case has a wonderful selection of treats, but is overpriced and the quality of their cakes has become somewhat inconsistent. If you what a tip from a daily guest, order their cuban toast, or something from the scone case of you're feeling hungry and if you're in a hurry be mindful of the lines which can be long.

• Pros: Customer service, great coffee, fun atmosphere

The Scene
Devils seem to have all the fun. Vivid murals adorn the walls of this colorful, cozy coffeehouse, while Latin beats undulate throughout the room. Sweethearts snuggle in the "love grotto" (a velvet couch hidden in the back corner). On a rainy day, bring a book and cuddle up with a cup of joe.

The Food
In the morning, sip on a Latin latte (cafe con leche) or a batido (fresh fruit shake). Chocolate lovers should dive in to a Mexican mocha, fragrant with the cinnamon and almonds that flavor their chocolate. Come back for a nightcap. El Diablo offers a titillating selection of wines and tropical desserts, including an apple-walnut torte and a perfectly sinful chocolate Bourbon cake. The fruit and cheese plate will cure that case of late-night, post-movie munchies.
