Clack across Old Town Ballard's cobblestone streets and visit Lucca; Its black walled exotica interior showcases Japanese stationary, taxidermy butterflies, chocolate gold foiled slippers, 18th Century Spanish apothecary and antique silver bracelets. Olivines has all the best girly designers, shiny hard wood floors, lovely sales girls, two giant dogs, lot's of shoes and bags. Souvenir has the most exquisite display windows and paper artwork ever. Bark is the coolest specialty shop for pets: pick up catnip rolled kitty cigars, pigs ears and sparkly collars. Re-Soul for mid-centuryesque furniture and design. Swing into Anchor Tattoo for a classic "Mother" inscrolled on your upper arm. The Palm Room for minimalist plantings and paintings. Plus a street full of hide-away art galleries and Cafes! Visit Ballard (not just for Norwegians anymore) to help bare the death of Freemont.
