The Laurel Hurst location My original review was typed over, or, may have been deleted. But I will say it again. In taking friends to JaK's in Laurelhurst, my girls' brother went to the bathroom, and found himself chattering it up with one of the line cooks/supervisor Ron or Ronny whatever. Well, this person didn't wash their hands upon leaving the bathroom, after handeling himself using the urinal. I'd approached the hostess to let her know to tell one of the management staff what had just happened. She shrugged and said Óh they wash their hands in the kitchen!!!! GROSS!!!!! ALL THAT SWAM AROUND IN MY HEAD, WAS THE CHILDREN, and that they would be severely ill. If this kitchen supervisor didn't wash in the bathroom, you know he didn't in the kitchen. Coming in contact with thr kitchen doors, countertops, plates, his apron, UTENSILS.....MY GOD!!!!WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!! When having an establishment that caters food and beverages to the public you commit yourself to high standards of sanitation, so food borne illness can be controlled, but keep in mind that children and the elderly are more prone to becoming fatally ill, causing death. There have been countless cases of contageons when hands are not cleaned, nor surfaces sanitized within the criteria of the Dept. of Health . Steve and I dropped by for a beer after the job, creatures of habit, we gave JaK's a chance. Before the bartender walks the length of the bar, we look up.......and there is the guy, the same guy,.... which told a bigger story. Seeing as how we never received the courtesy of a manager coming to our table the night of the discovery in the bathroom,.. he's still working here, needless to say, we left. I can not let this go! I have to say how sickening it is for something like this not to have been attended to. If anyone asks me about dining at JaK's, I will be nothing but forth coming. This particilar location is not safe, are the other two??
Pros: Unquestionably Trusted Great Safe Food......Once
Cons: What's that on your plate?
