We want to give it no star. The caesar salad was nothing special for $12. Seafood spaghetti and italian sausage was bland , watery and just a little meat comparing to the price. Mussels smelled bad, and vegetable wasn't fresh. It was over priced to pay for lousy food. Save your money and go some place else.
Pros: none
Cons: lousy, pricey

I stop in here now and again. Sometimes for a happy hour snack, sometimes for dinner. It is a nice place to hang out. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. I do not feel compelled to write reviews very often but my last experience at this establishment left a rather sour taste in my mouth. It was a very nice evening about a week ago. It was unseasonably warm. I noticed that the deck was open so I stopped in. It seemed quite busy on the deck. My waittress was very pleasant and seemed happy to be able to serve the outside tables. There was another employee, an older woman, that seemed very unhappy about having to serve outside. She was very loud and rude. I have seen her there a few other times but have never had her as my waittress. I found her behavior and attitude extremely unprofessional. She seemed grumpy and irritable and very inappropriately vocal about her displeasure. I found her to be rude and abrasive. I was happy she was not my server. I would recomend this place for the food (Seafood bruschetta and thin crust pizza) and the usually fun and casual atmosphere. I just hope your waittress is not the rude older woman who works there.

I've eaten here enough times to finally feel justified in critiquing this place. While the food is sometimes really good and sometimes just okay, service is the thing that's made me finally decide to probably never go back to this restaurant--excuse me--this "eatery". What's with the waitresses? This restaurant isn't generally busy enough to prevent the waitstaff from saying hello and then coming back to take drink and dinner orders in a timely fashion. Here's how it unfortunately has played out during my last visits: no greeting; a hurried waitress throws down a menu and walks away; same waitress comes back about 15 minutes later and asks what we want for dinner; after being told that we'd like to order some cocktails, waitress walks away without a smile; finally brings drinks; tell waitress what we'd like for dinner; no response other than to write down order; enjoy drinks; waitress doesn't return for a very long time; when she does, we ask her if we could please have some bread and refills on our drinks; no smile; drinks, bread, and dinners arrive at same time; again, no smile; and no service again until a good 15 minutes after food has been eaten. Come on already. The food is good enough to warrant a staff who can both promote your food and care about the service. Until I read enough reviews to suggest that service has improved significantly, I'm afraid I won't be going back.
Pros: Location, some dishes, parking.
Cons: Service can be horrible.

My experience in this awful place was similar to others on this site. Go to Taki's Mad Greek or Wild Mountain or Burrito Loco. There are plenty of places in Crown Hill with good food and service. The acorn's food is blah and the service is AWFUL. If I could give no stars, i would. It's sad; the location could make this restaurant a nice addition to the community.

My husband and I waited at a booth here for over 15 minutes. The place was not full to capacity and the waitress (the very disgruntled-looking waitress, I might add) walked right by us at least three times. We left and will not be returning. In the past we've eaten here because it's in the neighborhood. They have reasonable but not memorable food. The cocktails are strong. Maybe they need to be to keep people coming back.
Pros: Cocktails, in the neighborhood
Cons: Lousy service, mediocre (at best) food

They didnt ask us to quiet down, just leave. We did not have dinner but we spent over $100 in beers. We didnt try the food but now Im sure 10 familes will not ever try the food. We went to another bar and spent a few more dollars.

As newcomers to this part of Seattle, it was great to find a local restaurant within walking distance of our house. We've eaten here several times and have been overall pleased, but have a couple of concerns that probably will keep this place from becoming a favorite. They have a nice menu and the portions and quality of the dishes we've had have been good overall. The Happy Hour menu has great prices on both food and cocktails. My major complaint would be related to service. At times, we've had very attentive wait staff. Unfortunately, the service has been overall pretty impersonal and rushed, even when the restaurant has been mostly empty. We've had one particular waitress several times now who we've never seen smile, make eye contact, or show any sign of recognition of us, despite the fact that she's served us many times and we've made a point of trying to engage her in a short conversation. I'd suggest that management train their wait staff on the art of making simple conversation with their customers. No need for a lengthy conversation, just a simple "how are you this evening" or "nice to see you again" and a smile. Small gestures like that go a long way. Also, the bread served here is pretty lame.
Pros: Happy Hour menu, convenience
Cons: parking, waitstaff

I recently went to Acorn Eatery for happy hour at 5:30. The restaurant was 50% full, I was given the happy hour menu and I ordered from the happy hour menu. My food arrived at 6:45pm. My check came and it was full price. When I could finally find my server again, who came back to the table stinking of smoke, I asked why the happy hour prices were not on the bill. She told me that by the time she rang the order in, happy hour was over. Based on the amount of time it took my food to arrive, I don't doubt that she delayed ringing in the order until happy hour was over. She refused to remedy the situation. I will never go back and I encourage everyone else to avoid going to places like this who treat their regular customers so poorly.
Cons: Awful service

My family and I have gone here from time to time over the past couple of years. Always consistent, good seafood dishes (and variety). Good gnocchi and thin crust pizza, too. This is a very convient place to go, kid-friendly, and parking is always easy... a big plus in my book.
