I have only been here once, but what a great experience! We got free appetizers (Wednesdays) and amazing Phad Thai. A long happy hour kept us happy too!

Great decor, ambiance, service, bar. But the food wasn't all that authentic. Maybe they were catering to the average Seattlite/white person who likes "Asian" rather than Asian. I was with a group of Chinese and no-one liked their entrees; especialy at the price they charged (price ≠ quality). I did like the happy hour : appitizers (chicken skewers with peanut sauce) and the drinks.

  • Pros: Good apitizers, drinks, happy hour
  • Cons: Not authentic Asian entrees

The bar is great, but the food here is questionable, at best. None of the waiters looked old enough to serve our drinks, and they seated us next to the VERY COLD entrance to the restaurant next to the door. I have no idea about the night scene, as it seems to constantly change, so it's hard to want to go back when you have no idea what to expect. The bathrooms are clean and nice, and I can appreciate that.

  • Pros: The bar
  • Cons: The food

I was in last week and the bartender recommended this new beer on tap called Pandan Ale. It's really really good, I haven't seen it anywhere else. Look for the Buddha tap handle.

Wandered in mid-evening on Saturday. Seated immediately and the waitstaff were all highly attentive. There was no pressure to get our orders and food and get us out the door. They let us linger over our drinks, our appetizer and our meal. DEFINATELY try both the White Cherry Kazi and the Gingertini, not to be missed. The most tasty thai food I've had in a while in a very cozy romantic location.

  • Pros: service, food & drinks
  • Cons: parking downtown

There used to be a decent crowd of people in on Friday nights after work, lately, however, it seems that the Toi crowd has just disappeared. Unfortunately, the staff remains as hurried and impersonal as any busy bar in Belltown. The food is of great value and quality, especially during happy hour, but all things considered, and without a patio, there just seems to be no draw.

  • Pros: Happy hour food/values
  • Cons: Service

Authenic recipes thanks to Max's mom ! Max owns the bar around the corner. They are not skimpy on the chicken like most places...and it didnt taste like the cheap kind either. Some places use Ketchup in their dishes and this place does not. I love the red walls and warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Good drinks. It was crowded but that makes it more fun. If it was empty I might be scared.

  • Pros: atmosphere, FOOD
  • Cons: parking I guess

I went there last Friday for a couple of drinks and stayed their for hours! It's a convenient location near my workplace and they have good deals. I went there to join my friend's Happy Hour party and even if it was really busy, the staff was still nice. My drink for the night was what they called the Mandango... it was yummy and their crab puffs w/ cream cheese are to die for! I'm going to try to go for dinner next time.

  • Pros: Good deals, Good drinks & Thai food
  • Cons: If it gets busy, it takes a minute to get what you want but it's well worth it.

Toi has a great happy hour (the crackling prawn rolls and kiew crab are my favorite and a bargain) that extends to 8pm on thursdays and into saturday. I've met some interesting people there. The bartenders are friendly and the asian decor is striking. Street parking can be difficult, but if you look east of fourth avenue - you have a better shot.

My wife and I visited Toi for the second time Saturday evening. We were hoping to have Houdini serve us a couple of Hangar 1s with a twist of lemon and enjoy the Happy Hour appetizers. Unfortunately, Houdini wasnt there when we arrived but, since we liked the food, we came in anyway. The experience however, was horrible. The food was still good, but the manager spent the entire hour we were there complaining to friends about the staff and all of the things that she had on her 6 page list to fix. It was very uncomfortable to sit at the bar and listen to her complain about her employees. To top off her tirade, she announced to her friends that shes quitting in October to move to Hawaii and open a PF Changs. As it stands now my wife and I dont plan on returning to Toi.

  • Pros: Bartender
  • Cons: Management
