Decadent cheesecakes and classic American cuisine makes this a popular chain.

by Contributor

In Short
Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.

Great food and service and excellent cheesecake!

by Jeffb727

My wife and I went to the Cheese cake factory for our wedding anniversary. She had wanted to go there for a long time. We made it out to Seattle from the Puyallup area early and made a resrvation. We then headed down to the Pike place market to look around. When we returned we were promptly seated and were attended to very well. We had drinks quickly and appetizers shortly after that. The food was excellent and prepared the way we asked for. The wait staff was very good at checking on us and getting anything that we asked for. Our table was on an upper level and I had a good view looking all around the restaurant. The place was bustling with activity and all the guests I saw looked to be enjoying themselves. Those who complain that the place doesn't have a childrens menu, should go to Denny's. I take my wife out once in a while to nice place to get away, we have four kids and like the time alone. If I wanted to hear someones little brat crying I would eat at home. I don't pay for a nice meal to hear someone elses kid screaming above my conversation. So cudos to the Cheesecake factory, I didn't have to hear one snivel or whine!

  • Pros: Great service, great food. Good location to pike place market
  • Cons: People who bring their kids and think I want to listen to them cry! Why???

Long waits, mediocre service, in a less prominent location the place would go under, here they have lines...

by FellaTee

Two people and we waited for 30 minutes to be seated. Service was slow and not good. Our waiter was annoyed having to get condiments. Servings were large. Food was ok. Dessert was good.

Bill was incorrect and took some time sorting out.

  • Pros: Serving size?

Delicious Lemoncello Cake

by gianna70

My husband and I stopped in to pick up dessert on our way back to our hotel. The restaurant was packed to the max! Luckily, they have a dessert counter devoted to take out! I settled on a piece of lemoncello cake. My husband decided not to order his own dessert, said he'd just have a bite of mine. It was SO good though that he ended up eating half of my piece of cake! :-) If you've not had this one before I highly recommend it. It's light and refreshing with a perfect lemon flavor. If we hadn't of been in town for just one night, I might've bought a whole one!!

  • Pros: Dedicated dessert take-out counter
  • Cons: Crowded & noisy

No Kid Menus!

by haemom

I'm baffled as to why this restaurant is voted a family friendly place when it doesn't even have kids menus. Yes, you can find something to appease most children on the adult menu (pizza, fettuccini), but the prices are 2-3 times more than what you would normally pay for a kids meal. I have not returned with my three kids for this very reason. Get with the program Cheesecake Factory! Your name sounds family friendly, you encourage families to come, but you don't offer kids menus! Make up your mind on what kind of restaurant you want to be.

  • Pros: beautiful decor, good cheesecake
  • Cons: long wait (again, not appropriate for kids!), food quality inconsistent, no kid menus!!! Ads in menu are a turn off as well.

They don't serve just cheesecake!

by alliespiritu

This is a great place to go if you're with a big group of friends. But make sure to go early because it gets busy once lunch and dinner time comes around. The menu is great because it has all different types of food and not just CHEESECAKE!

  • Pros: Great all around menu, there's always room for cheesecake
  • Cons: Gets really busy during lunch and dinner time, come early, no reservations:(

Wait was more than twice and long as promised, extra tip added, expensive parking.

by angiegami

Our party of 10 arrived at 1 p.m. Sat. afternoon. We were told by the hostess that the only table of that size would be available in 30-40 minutes. With our large group it sounded reasonable. Hostess kept saying the party at the table we were waiting for were ready to leave. We waited for over 1 hr and 20 minutes, -- then the hostess decided to put 3 tables together for our party, since the party still wasn't leaving. Why didn't she just do that in the beginning? Customers who were waiting when we arrived had come and gone. -- Couldn't eat dessert there (ran out of time) so decided to bring a cheescake home. Our waitress offered to get it from the bakery for us and just add it to our bill. Sounded good at the time but when I got the bill, I also had an automatic 18% tip added, which would have been okay for the food and drink there BUT re-checking the bill when I got home --- an extra tip of $4.50 was added on for the $24.95 cheesecake. I could have picked it up myself on the way out and saved that $4.50. (Talk about salt being rubbed into the wound). -- My miso salmon was great! -- I believe in paying for what we get but my good feelings deflate if I feel I've been taken advantage of. Is that fair? The long wait is my main complaint.

  • Cons: Parking downtown is expensive

Huge portions and corporate feel

by alisonkramer

I personally don't like to dine at corporate places, and this place always has that feel. The menu has advertisements, the servers are impersonal, and food attempts to make up for its unremarkable-ness by being served it vat-sized portions. I'd say skip the dinner, grap cheesecake to go and find someplace less formulaic to eat it.

The waiter gave himself a tip with our credit card!

by freedom474

A group of us went here and had a waiter who was rude to us the entire night for absolutely no reason (one of us asked him to bring a topping that was supposed to be on the salad, that's all I can think of.)

THEN, days later, I noticed on my credit card statement that the waiter had given himself a hefty tip! I'm not sure how he did it, but the receipt I have sitting in front of me clearly states one number and the credit card bill shows another, much higher, number. I am still trying to get ahold of the manager there to remedy the problem - how AWFUL!

  • Pros: Good cheesecake
  • Cons: Sleazy service, long wait

Great times, great meals!

by jamicusina

This place has to be one of my favorites! Though I only go there for one dish. The Pasta Davinci! Their pastas have great cream sauses, and ofcourse there are a million different kinds of cheesecake! I recommend the Turtle Cheesecake! Not good if you are watching calories, and it can get a little steep on the price (we spend on average $55 +)

  • Pros: Good Food, GREAT service
  • Cons: Long waits, snotty hostesses
