by isgilbert at Citysearch

It was a good sushi and other foods too.

I had a free dinner because of my birthday.

I am creazy about sushi but my husband don't but he likes it because still so many foods he can eat. It was great dinner.

Poor customer service, they don't honor their promotions! Food quality going down.

by clareaparis at Citysearch

This was my 2nd time to the Redmond Todai. What prompted me to travel 45 mins from Federal Way to Redmond was the email that I received about a promotion on Todai's adult dinner costs. It was advertised as $19.99 for adults (mon-thurs), excluding Valentines Day and Weekends. So I went on the night of the 16th, a Monday, which was also President's day. President's Day was not mentioned on the promotion at all and since I had to work I didn't even think of it as a big deal. There were 8 people in my party, 2 children and 3 teens and 2 adults. The food quality had gone down since the last time I was there, over a year ago. The seafood was hard (overcooked) and flavorless, the yakisoba tasteless and the sushi was dry. When I received my bill I was shocked to discover that we were charged the full price, almost $30 a head. I mentioned the promotion, they stated it wasn't valid for that day because it was a holiday. I said that was fine and dandy, but they only mentioned in the fine print that Valentines Day & Weekends were not included in the deal. The manager must have spent over 20 mins drilling me on the fact that the promotion didn't count on this day and persisted with showing him the printout of the ad, stating that it wasn't mentioned. To make a long story short they didn't honor the promotion and sent me away a very dissatified customer, along with 7 other first timers who will never visit there again.

  • Pros: Great variety a little bit of everything asian.
  • Cons: Poor customer service

This enormous Japanese buffet attracts a diverse crowd for all-you-can-eat sushi and tempura.

by Robyn Galbos at Citysearch

In Short
The first Todai Restaurant debuted in 1985 in Santa Monica, Calif., and has since opened in locations across the U.S. and in Hong Kong. The restaurant, with seating for up to 500 people, features a 160-foot seafood buffet offering more than 40 kinds of sushi, all made fresh. The salad selection ranges from Caesar to seaweed to red potato salad. Hot entrees include sukiyaki, teriyaki chicken, sweet-and-sour pork and udon noodles.

I keep coming back

by Vmis at Citysearch

The servers are really nice and personable. There is a great variety of food, so, in my opinion, there is something to choose for everyone's taste. I would recommend lunch buffet - it is cheaper and has a greater variety of delicious salads. Dinner buffer offers a bigger variety of seafood, such as crab legs, octopus salad, cold and hot mussels, and shrimp.

  • Pros: Variety
  • Cons: Crowded

Place to go!

by sushiman123 at Citysearch

I think Todai is more than average compare to price and food selection. This all you can eat sushi and seafood buffet offers a lot of choices of food like delicious hot food and fresh sushi, and my favorite cakes.

Also, udon is another favorite. If you fall in love with asian food, I recommend to go to TODAI!

All You Can Eat

by cutebirdie at Citysearch

This restaurant has much to offer, for which I shall list here: good service, large dining area for parties of 6 or greater, differentiated menu, etc., etc. The price is a tad bit expensive for mediocre sushi. However, in all fairness, the food is created under the paradigm of "mass quantity preparation", so don't expect it to taste as good as Kikuya's restaurant which is located a few blocks from this place. If you are a frequent patron of "all you can eat" places and you want to try, or currently enjoy Japanese cuisine, then this is the place for you!

  • Pros: Variety, Service
  • Cons: Not a true measure of Japanese Cuisine

Not horrible but not exceptional

by sione at Citysearch

Todai is a little on the pricey side at $20-someodd dollars, but you do get all-you-can-eat. What there is to eat isn't really as horrible as some of the reviews, in my experiences there, but by no means is the food excellent either. The food is pretty good for the most part, with some things lingering on the side of average to lousy. It really can be hit-or-miss and you can get a decent meal for your buck but I think that the value is just in the all-you-can-eat part. You're sacrificing a little bit of quality in winning at quantity so it is what it is.

  • Pros: All-you-can-eat, some good food
  • Cons: Kind of pricey, food isn't great, the seating is what you would find in a mall food court

Average seafood buffet

by jags999 at Citysearch

Decor is nice - everything looks pretty. But not too much tastes fantastic. I've had better sushi. A few tasty salads and hot dishes. The desserts are cute in their bite size servings so you can taste everything!

i went for the first time today, and i dont understand why other reviewers were complaining. the seating was prompt, the food fresh, and the selection large. maybe because i went on a weekday for lunch? it was also worth it because it was someones birthday, so they ate free.

  • Pros: wide selection, fresh food

Ruin your B'Day celebration

by prints at Citysearch

It's your Birthday, it's on the "House". But there is a catch. They will ruin your Birthday celebration by having to pay for your own meal because my friend was unable to accompanied. Critique of the Food: if it is the first time to experience Asian foods then okay, however don't waste your time or money if you already have a taste and love for Asian foods. "Wasabi" not fresh. There are other competitors out there that will serve you well.
