We went to Tost because they have happy hour til 8pm: 1/2 off food and good drink specials. We went directly to the deck, it's cute and cozy. The bartender came immediately, we ordered drinks, the Cheese Plate and the Mediterranean Plate. The drinks came very quickly. But after 40 min, there was still no food (neither of those dishes had to be cooked!!) and no sign of the bartender again. Around this time, another bartender started serving the deck customers, so I asked her to find out what was going on with our food and I ordered another drink. The next time she came out, she was empty handed and she ignored me. Then she was back inside in a flash. I had to flag her down the next time to ask where my food and drinks were, and was told there was an ingredient problem, but now there's only one order in front of ours, so it should be out soon. By now it's been an hour, so we canceled our food order and left.

Pros: Cozy Deck, Happy Hour til 8pm

Cons: Don't expect to actually get the food you order off the happy hour menu

any of Fremonts changes are for the better, like the recent management change at ToST. The most noticeable change is the service. The staff is more friendly and skilled than before but they havent acquired that production feeling of larger places. They still provide live music six nights a week and display art work from local artists, and the atmosphere is still that of a small, chic local spot. The down side is that it fills up fast, which I guess is good because that means theyll be around a while.

Pros: hip and local, live music, full bar!

I didn't think I could love this joint more until they remodeled recently. It's even cozier with the addition of comfy chairs around the fireplace, and they've opened it up so there's more room to spread your wings on the dance floor. It was a lot cooler in there, too, even on the jam packed Friday I was there. The bartender said that they'd installed a ceiling exhaust fan. The staff knows you by name and what you drink if you've been there more than a couple times. A fabulous spot!!!

Pros: eclectic crowd, fun bartenders, great cheap eats

This place has some of the best live music and DJ's around, with a great vibe! It's no smoking, but there's a porch out back that is very smoker friendly! The music cover is always $5 or less, and it's free if you get there before 9! I like the place! The pizzas are great, and they're only $5 during Happy Hour!

Pros: Music, No Smoking, Strong Drinks

The service was by far the worst thing about ToST--rude and unfriendly to the point it made me leave. (To say the service was slow would be an understatement because the staff of two never acknowledged our table.) Everything else was just average. I didn't get to the porch, so I gave ToST the benefit of the doubt and bumped them up in atmosphere a little. Fremont has plenty of great bars, so don't waste your time at ToST. You'll regret it.

I am a long-time supporter of Fremont establishments and miss the look and feel of what used to be the Center of the Universe. ToST is a perfect example of what I hate about Fremont now. My friend and I met there on a Sat night for cocktails. We had an OK experiencedrinks were decent, music was good. We decided to give it another try and invited a group of friends to meet us the following Fri after work for happy hour. We were so embarrassed because the service was HORRIBLE. They had one waitperson working the entire place. When we wanted to order another round of drinks we had to literally get out of our seats to hunt her down. For some odd reason she wasnt using a try and delivered our drinks to us one by one from the bar. It was AWFUL. Never again.

What a cool scene! I love the porch out back, the food was great, the drinks were strong, the music was dope...and I got laid to boot! What more could you want?

The happy hour at Tost is fantastic. Free pizza and inexpensive drinks- what could be better?! Their pizza is literally the best I've ever had. It's also a great place to go if you're into the live music scene. The atmosphere, the drinks, and the staff will make your visit worth it.

This martini bar has the best happy hour in town with free gourmet pizzas and $2.50 microbrew pints during the week. Cool ambiance, great service and killer music on weekend nights. Get there early for a seat on the outdoor deck.
