This is a hard review to write because of the mix of good and bad. The atmosphere is really nice. We were greeted and sat right away. The water and soft drinks were always full. The portions were large and the nice waiter was really really nice. HOWEVER, the reasons we wont go back are ... A large group of people came in about 10 minutes after us and got their large meal long before we did. They were Thai also, maybe family, maybe mistake or maybe they were playing favorites? The food was really really bland - hard to imagine in Thai food. My husband ordered 4 star garlic chicken and I had 1 star basil chicken. Both entrees tasted watered down almost dish soapy, hard to explain, but terrible and tasteless. Closing time was 9:30 and although we were close to being done at that time they really rushed us out. The man that served us our food was really nice, however the one that sat us and took our order was not very customer centric. He was interested in everything else around him but us. We usually go to Bai Tong near Toys R Us and thought that we would try something new, we are now loyal to Bai Tong - try it - they are great!

After being seated without incident, we then waited and watched for 10 minutes while tables seated AFTER us were waited on BEFORE us. I politely and sympathetically (i know embarrassing it is to forget an entire table of people) asked a server walking by if we could have someone take our order. She replied with attitude "I'll be right there." She did come back to take our order, but before we received our drinks, we started getting glares from the wait and bus staff. Water glasses were being refilled all around us. When it became apparent that we wouldn't get any water at all, I went up to ask for it for my child's cup only. A man walked past with a pitcher of water and sternly said "I'll be right with you, ma'am." He did manage to get back to me, filled the sippy cup 1/2 way and walked away. Thanks a lot. Finally the food came, much later than everyone else was getting theirs, of course. Dinner was mediocre, and frankly I was scared of what might have been done to it in retaliation of my seemingly outrageous request for service. No one ever came back to the table to ask if the food was ok, to deliver a check, or to ask if we needed to-go boxes. I walked up to the counter to pay, left a G00SE EGG for a tip, and will never go there again. Had I been the least bit rude to anyone in that restaurant, I'd have understood the treatment my family and I received. I've been in the service industry for 16 years, and I fully respect the people who handle my food. I've never been treated so poorly that I felt the need to leave the server without a tip... not even when the food was horrible did the server walk away with less than 15%. I hope it's clear that I'm not writing a random poor review of an independently operated restaurant. In fact, I'm trying to save you the hassle of being insulted.

Pros: got us out of a South Center traffic jam for 45 minutes

Cons: don't get me started

under investigation by the dept of labor and industries. several employees have never recieved W-2's and no Social Security or Unemploymet taxes have never been paid. The owner lives on the lake and have several luxury vehicles. They make tens of thousand every month by both restaurants. But thier employees work 60+ hour weeks with very little under the table pay. Do you really think the owner claims his true daily sales? The employees would recieve no unemployment tommorow if the restaurant's burnt down. let alone be able to buy a car or house with no proof of income available. How about Social Security when they get older? The owner Rick is not a Christian (claims to be). A true christian would never cheat the IRS and his employees this way.

Pros: maybe going out of business

Cons: paying tjhem sales tax??? who gets it?

Their food makes me happy. The end. No really.... My sisters and I went there after an unsuccessful day of shopping, and their food perked me up. I woul dhave to say I've eaten a good amount of Thai food, and this made me smile. I try not to judge the restaurant by its Phad Thai, but it's tempting. A squirt of lime, toss of the noodles, and I was indulged! Oh, and I love their panang =)

Pros: Cute atmosphere, Convenient Parking, Great Food

Cons: The Lunch Crowd, Parking with the Lunch Crowd

I attended a birthday party at Simply Thai's new location and it is absolutely beautiful. The food was fantastic and the servers and managers were very attentive. The flavors were fresh and everything was done to perfection with excellent presentation. I would recommend it to anyone.
