So this was my first time going to a real salon to have my hair done - usually I just have it trimmed by my mother's friend. I searched the best salons near where I work, and Artika came up. When I read the reviews, I simply HAD to try it. Their website is very well designed and informative, which attracted me even more than their prices did. I decided to try it and went in last night at 4PM to have a trim and highlight by Lina. I arrived a few minutes late, but they still treated me with respect and didn't seem too upset. In fact, I was offered a drink as soon as I walked in, and let me tell ya, the tea is wonderful! The wait was not long at all and Lina greeted me with genuine warmth. As I haven't had my hair colored before, I can't rate the quality of this service, but it was a pleasant, peaceful experience. Lina kept up a friendly chatter so I felt very at ease. While waiting for the highlights to set in, there were also some great magazines to check out. But the best part was when I was offered my "sensory adventure" - I got an awesomely relaxing mini-facial that almost put me to sleep! The trim also turned out great and I walked out feeling like a million bucks. And even when the color didn't turn out exactly as I'd expected, they immediately offered to fix it for free! All in all, I can say this was a wonderful experience, one that I'll be telling all my friends about.
