Avoid these guys. My experience was that they are not honest and overcharge. I brought my desktop there after a power surge rendered it unusuable. After several days they quoted me over $300 to fix the problems -- two hours of labor to install a new power supply and "clean up the registry file" and my BS radar went off. Fortunately I took it to a more reputable place for another estimate and had the work done for $125.

My Dell laptop had wine spilled on it and stopped working, I took it to another laptop repair shop and they quoted me $600 to replace the mother board and have to wait 3 weeks before I get it back so I decided to get a second opinion and took it to laptopfix in Lake City. The front counter person was very nice and polite he had me talk to the technician who’s going to work on my laptop he explained everything to me and offered me a FREE loaner while my laptop is been repaired, at the end of the day it cost me less than $200 to get y laptop going again, no need for the motherboard replacement and less than 4 days to get it back. I recommend these guys to everyone with a computer problem. They know how to take care of business.

Pros: Fast, honest and polite

My Name is Mohamed Lahlou, I am the President and owner of A-1 Best Computer, I like to make it clear to our customers that some of the reviews posted in this site are not true and none of these customers is real, this is our competition trying hard to damage our reputation and turn around and write nice and sweet reviews about their recent company, we know exactly which competitor is playing this sally game that will cost them dearly. My company is taking appropriate measures in this matter and complained about this unprofessional act. This is a site where anybody can post anything without any control , no personal information are needed to post a review, not like Angie's list. We are a very well known and reputable company in Seattle; we were awarded ANGIE’S LIST SUPER AWARD for Best customer service in 2007 We are a proud member of the Greater Seattle and Lake City chambers of commerce. We are an Accredited Business with The Better Business We have 2 locations in Seattle and one coming soon in the eastside We have served more than 20.000 happy customers in the past 6 years Come and check us out your self any time and give us your feedback on your experience with our staff. I challenge any one who can come forward and claim any of the bad reviews to be his, and prove that they had a bad experience with A-1 Best Computer. I also Like to make it clear to the unprofessional competitor that’s putting these bad reviews and turning around and writing good reviews about his company that he’s been tracked and monitored and that he doesn’t have much time to hide under these “unknown users” he’s creating every time he write a bad review about us . Thank you This is for you “ Unknown user” I’m sure you will read this email in your way to write another bad review about us but I’ll tell you what, this time take the time to remove what you posted in the past and go run your business in better way if you know how.

I’m very happy and impressed with the customer service I received from A-1 Best Computer. I have a Dell laptop that my 2 years old daughter spilled milk on the keyboard, I called few places that advertise laptop repair before calling A-1 Best Computer to get a quote and no one seems to know what something like this will cost to fix, I was also worried about my data in my hard drive, all the places I called want hundreds of dollars to replace my " mother board”. And retrieve my information. They also want me to leave my laptop for two weeks before they can look at it. When I called A-1, the first thing I noticed was the friendly attitude from the person that answer the phone and the technical knowledge he seems to have about my particular issue. I took my laptop to them and got a free loaner, they also transferred my document to the loaner so I can work on my files. It only took two day to get my laptop back, I paid $125.00 Vs hundreds of dollars I was quoted. I am a very happy customer and I will recommend these guys to anyone who has a computer problem. They have me for ever and I will continue to spread the word about how good they were to me and to my laptop. "Nancy"

I brought in my four-year-old Gateway laptop to have them troubleshoot some monitor backlighting issues I was having. I should have done some homework beforehand, as I learned that the problem I was having was pretty common (and easily fixed) for that laptop. The guy at the counter told me that for $80, they'll troubleshoot the problem and if it can be fixed within an hour, that is all I would pay (plus any parts needed.) Turns out, all they did for that $80 was determine it was a bad inverter chip - something that they probably surmised as soon as I told them the make and model of the laptop. Then, rather than fixing it, they said I needed a $90 inverter chip, and it would take 1.5 hrs of labor to install it...so that would be about $200 on top of the $80 I had already paid. I said "no thanks" and ordered "$90" part online for $20, and replaced the chip myself in about 10 minutes. These guys are capitalizing on people's fears of losing their data and of research and doing any repairs themselves. A lot of repairs require professionals, but a lot don't. Do some homework first - these guys will definitely play to your fears that only they can handle the problem, or that you need a "premium" part. Sure they're a business, but just remember that...they are trying to make money and aren't above putting a little spin on things to squeeze a little more out of you. They're friendly...but they're not your friends.

I needed my screen fixed on my Dell laptop. I thought it would cost a bundle turned out I got it all done for about 200.00 bucks. Took about four days total. While I was in picking it up my mom picked up an IBM think pad for $350.00 pulse tax. She is happy as could be. Thanks A-1

These guys are simply bad help. One guy tells me its price A, next guy changes it to price B, Last guy tells me Price C - all for the same service! One guy tells me they have my data, next guy tells me they dont have my data - that will cost extra. they wanted 160 Bucks for a 80 Gig HD - they are worth 50 retail. Scam, Scam, Scam

I spent $370 to have my 4 year old Dell laptop computer repaired (caput hard drive). Lord - I would just as soon have upgraded with a new computer! They charged 3 hours labor for diagnosis, putting in a new hard drive, and installing antivirus software. No other software was installed (like Word, or any of the other software my computer came with). Hard to believe it took them three hours, since I called back 5 minutes later to change my mind about the service, and the hard drive was already installed! (Too late, they said!) No data was even recovered (did they try?) I think you could very likely get better value elsewhere. I don't recommend this place.
