great place to be

by jjstarlight at Citysearch

My girlfriends and I went to the Buenos Aires grill for a bachelorette party on Saturday night and had the best time ever. Our server arranged for the bachelorette to dance the tango with one of the professional tango dancers, it was great. We didnt know a whole lot about the wine or food there but our waitress recommended the best wine and meal I've ever had. Then she sent over a cocktail(compliments of the owners) for the bachelorette also. Our food was wonderful the steaks were cooked to perfection. It just goes to show that anyone can serve you food or own an establishment, but it take a place with real uniqueness and people who care to make a dinner special. I will definetly come back to Buenos Aires and will also recommend this place to friends.

take it from an argentinean this is nowhere the food quality or service you can expect from most argentinean restaurants

by hemakesuslaugh at Citysearch

my mom was in town so I took her here to enjoy some food like home - being from argentina I have eaten argentinean restaurants all over the world and another one (now closed) in seattle and this was by far the worst! They put us three adults and a toddler by the tightest loudest place right by the bar and then complained if our toddler went near the bar. The whole back is area is right by the kitchen and not well ventilated at all so it was about 90 back there. The service was awful. It was slow and unfriendly - when my mom told them in a thick accent she was from argentina (She is proud) they sneered and said nothing else - they knew nothing about how the food was made and were slow in their return and were all too quick to clean up before we were done. The food itself would have been ok for a much cheaper price but nothing compared to most restaurants inside and outside of argentina. their humita empanada was half decent but their meat empanada was bland and completely non-authentic and clearly poor quality meat. We ordered beef ribs and new york strip. the beef ribs were ok but pretty good workout for the teeth some better marinating and tenderizing would have helped. The new york was awful - i don't think it was a new york and it tasted livery. their sweet potatoe fries were real good and so was their creamed spinach (better be for $8 a pop) their argentinean chorizo was groce by any standard and entirely unauthentic. In short there are countless better ways to spend minimum $100 for 2-3 people in many other places in seattle. maybe this place was better when it was actually owned by argentineans but now it is a big waste of money!!!

great customer service,great food

by luaritathomson at Citysearch

I had the best time at this resteraunt last night. I had read some of the reviews on city search and I have to say, I found the service was wonderful, the food was extrordinary, and the whole vibe of the place was great. I was a little reluctant to come here after reading the reviews of the long waits and the not so great service, but this place came highly recommended by a good friend of mine so I thoght I'd give it a try. I was pleasanly surprised. we arived and went to the bar for mojitos that were the best I've ever had, then the hostess showed us to our table where we were greated by our waitress, she was very warm and has a great personality for working with the public. overall, great food, great experience

Worst service I've ever had in a restaurant

by josheee at Citysearch

Attended a birthday party at the Buenos Aires Grill this weekend. The invitation advertised delicious meats and Tango dancing, so I was looking quite forward to it. Unfortunately, the terrible service made the evening less than perfect and most of the guests left with a bad impression that had little to do with the food.

When we arrived, we were immediately seated by our hostess at the tables we had reserved for our party. So far so good. The rest of the party came in over the next 30 minutes, a few tried ordering drinks (which never came). The same waiter who wasn't bringing back the drinks people ordered also failed to bring menus after being asked 4 or 5 times. We sat for over an hour before ever being able to order and with nothing to drink. Not even our water glasses were refilled (which made eating the tasty salsa and bread a bad idea).

Fed-up (and hungry), I went up to the front and asked another waiter to help us. 10 minutes later, we finally got menus and a new waitress. People re-ordered drinks and she slowly but surely brought them. Most importantly, we were finally able to order food.

During the next hour, we waited for our meal and enjoyed the two tango dancers twirling around the extremely cramped restaurant. One danced with the birthday girl, which she enjoyed. We made jokes about the bad service with fellow patrons at the next table who wanted to pay their bill and leave but couldn't find their waiter either.

The food arrived and was good. Even though we wanted some, no one at the table was brave enough to order coffee or dessert (nearly 3 hours into the evening, we feared we'd be there all night if we ordered it) so we asked for the bill. Delivering the check took another 35 minutes and when it arrived, it had to be sent back because of errors.

Overall, the food was good, but I don't think I'd be willing to endure the service again to get another plate of it. Avoid this place unless you've got endless patience.

  • Pros: Many steak choices, fair prices,
  • Cons: Absolutely horrible service, cramped seating, loud music, LONG waits....

Best Steak in Seattle

by briandale at Citysearch

Parrillada (mixed grill) for four brought what must have been eight pounds of meet to the table, including hangar steak, chicken breast, sausage, short ribs, and on and on - served atop an hibachi with still smoldering wood direct from the grill. Unbelievable! Rest assured though, sheer mass was not the selling point - all of the meat was wonderfully tender and cooked to perfection. After having tried more traditional steak houses in Seattle (Metropolitain and Daniel's Broiler), with great disappointment, I can easily say that Buenos Aires Grill would be my choice any night of the week. Oh, and by the way, the accompanying french fries are some of the best I've had too. I guess the bottom line is that they might not be fancy, but they do what they do very, very well.

  • Pros: Beef, chicken, pork, lamb, ...
  • Cons: Lame dancing, mediocre service, tables a bit crowded

Great time, great food at the holidays

by will33 at Citysearch

The firefighters in Lynnwood had a great experience at the Buenos Aires Grill. It was delightful and unforgettable. My steak was so tender that I cut it with my fork. The sauce that they make is so good, I've never had something like that in my life. The desserts were delicious and they have the best mohitos in town! The service was also great, we had a large party and the servers always paid attention to our needs and the manager went out of his way to provide us the room and the tango dancers. His knowledge of wine was fantastic and amazing. He always had a smile and was very friendly. The atmosphere was classy and comfortable. I would recommend this for large or small parties. I can't wait to go back again.

  • Pros: Friendly atmosphere, good service
